Review: The Bites, The Treatment, The Dead Daisies
Rock City, Nottingham (September 13th, 2024)
Reviewer / Photographer: Dan Mann
I only saw / photographed The Bites a few weeks ago at Stonedead, but I was looking forward to seeing them on a smaller stage for comparison. The band delivered the same moves and banter as the aforementioned Stonedead, but this didn’t distract from an enjoyable performance, one the crowd certainly enjoyed. If you’ve not yet had the chance to catch The Bites live, grab the next opportunity, and enjoy some straight up rock USA style!

Next up on the evening’s roster, The Treatment. Now if I was asked what is currently one of the best live bands on the circuit, then The Treatment would be my answer. I always enjoy watching them, they always deliver a high octane live performance, hard rock in your face, exactly what the rock doctor ordered!
Setlist:
Lets Wake
Let It Begin
Eyes
Thunder
Vampress
Man 0n A Highwire

And so to the night’s headliners. Returning to Blighty supporting their brand new album ‘Light Em Up‘ (review here) The Dead Daisies also saw the return to the fold of frontman John Corabi.
As always, The Dead Daisies delivered a polished performance. Axe slinger Doug Aldrich throwing the sort of shapes that deeply pleases togs everywhere, band leader Dave Lowy happy to let the rest of the band take most of the limelight, but still adding his signature moves to the mix.
Throw in the more than a little impressive engine room of bassist Michael Devin & tub thumper Tommy Clufetos, plus an enthusiastic crowd and the hard rock cocktail ingredients are all assembled into the sort of drink that takes your breath away.
There is a reason I always look forward to The Dead Daisies landing on these fair shores, regardless of the line-up, and that is you are guaranteed to be entertained.

The only moan about the evening, and it’s not exclusive to the night’s performances, and that is the excessive use of the fogger machines. No audience or photographer wants a recreation of a Victorian London smog, or be left with a streaming nose & sore throat. Rant over!
