Multi-talented, ever-creative Mike Ross today announces a run of selected UK shows in support of his forthcoming, rock-infused, 12-track album ‘Third Eye Open’(due out on 28th April, 2023). Pre-orders for the album — in several formats — are now open and the countdown to release is underway.
To support the release, Mike will be taking his very latest material out on the road and performing it live throughout the month of May. Full details, along with booking facilities can be found at Mike’s website: mikerossmusic.co.uk.
Mike says “I can’t WAIT to get out on the road playing songs from the new record: they’re super fun to play and I’m sure you’re all gonna LOVE ‘EM!”
The first single from ‘Third Eye Open’ — ‘The Preacher’ —got released on 20th January. Mike himself described it as “a 3½ -minute rockers’ revival meeting that comes fully loaded with big choruses, handclaps, foot-stomps and a face-melter of a guitar solo!”
That track has lived up to Mike’s vision and earned rave reviews. RushonRock made ‘The Preacher’ Red Hot Track of the Week and proclaimed, “‘The Preacher‘ proves Ross is still the blues rock boss. It’s good to have him back.”
Meanwhile, reviewing ‘Preacher’ for Metal Planet Music, Paul Monkhousesaid, “With elements of 70’s classic hard rock but spun with a new edge, this is a snakehipped charmer that is slinky and self-assured: the smell of blood, dust and beer seeping through its every note.
“With its great climbing feel and biker barroom honesty, this is a new anthem that should be played loud.”
Check Mike’s website for full and further details of his touring and the album release options and offers. Digital pre-saves of the new album are available: here
What’s more, for fans of physical media, pre-orders are now open for the ‘Third Eye Open’ CD and limited-run splatter 12” Vinyl, available from shop.mikerossmusic.co.uk, with these formats shipping in April.
Mike Ross’s latest material consolidates his hard-earned rep as a man you can rely on to deliver Heavy Blues and powerful Rock of consistently high quality; to conjure up the fuzz for which he’s famed; but also, to make his guitar soar and sing; and to deliver smart, meaningful lyrics. Like a shark, Mike keeps on moving forward and with ‘Third Eye Open’ he’s swum into even rockier waters, with assured verve, vim and va-va-voom.
