LA Rockers Blacklist Union Return With ‘Heavy Is The Crown’

LA rockers Blacklist Union return with their new single ‘Heavy Is The Crown‘, released via BLU Records. The third single from the band’s forthcoming album ‘The Good, The Bad And The Notorious‘, due for release in Spring 2027. It follows ‘Jackson‘ and ‘Madame Butterfly‘, with the latter being an open love letter from frontman Tony West to Femme Fatale’s Lorraine Lewis.

There’s also been a rather interesting development in the Tony West/Lorraine Lewis story since Blacklist Union’s recent UK & European tour with Faster Pussycat & Femme Fatale. After the tour, Tony and Lorraine headed to Paris, where Tony proposed at the top of the Eiffel Tower. She said yes..

“‘Heavy Is The Crown‘ is about perseverance, knowing it’s always darkest before the dawn…” – Tony West

Formed in Los Angeles in 2006 by Bronx-born Tony West, Blacklist Union have spent the past two decades developing a sound that combines hard rock, punk and alternative influences. West has described seeing The Ramones as a “religious, spiritual experience.” The band’s name came from bringing together the best musicians in town with the worst reputations.

Long-time producer Christopher Johnson (Evanescence, Scott Weiland, Josh Todd) produced the 2025 album ‘Slay The Dragon‘ and is also behind the forthcoming album. ‘Slay The Dragon‘ earned widespread critical acclaim, with Powerplay Rock and Metal Magazine describing it as “ready made for stardom.” With ‘Heavy Is The Crown‘ offering the latest taste of ‘The Good, The Bad And The Notorious‘, Blacklist Union’s next chapter promises plenty more of the hard rock, attitude and swagger that got them here, with perhaps a little more love in the air this time around.
