Review: Stargazer – Breakdown (Single)
Mighty Music (February 13th, 2026)
Reviewer – David Mark Pearce
Is it possible to combine Dokken, TNT and Whitesnake? Of course it is and Stargazer do it superbly well here with their latest single ‘Breakdown’.
It starts off with the crunching riff supplied by William Ernstsen! What a great guitar sound this guy has – Superstrat into a modified Marshall and well, it just as well be a Time Machine because you’re back to ‘Under Lock and Key’ meets ‘Tell No Tales’!
This is a quite a fast paced song where verses and choruses etc don’t hang around long! Each part says what it needs to and seamlessly moves on to the next, all underpinned with a tight as hell rhythm section , fantastic vocals on top and a brilliant, catchy chorus with as I said those crunching guitars and a cool as hell solo just to sprinkle that Icing on top of a superbly layered cake!
Their latest album ’Stone Cold Creature’ (review here) is out now on LP (black and transparent blue Vinyl Variants), CD and digital formats via Mighty Music.
