Nasty Ratz (who are from the Czech Republic) opened up Thursday night at Yardbirds Grimsby with ‘Circus‘, quite a heavy opening song that was well received and seemed to instantly fire up the 80’s rock vibe.
They played a full 12 song set with some uplifting catchy riffs. This Is the second time I have photographed these guys playing live and from what I have seen tonight, they now have a much stronger, more engaging stage presence.
Its quite clear they care about their music craft and certainly engaged well with the audience.
Set List:
- Intro + Circus
- The Waste
- Against The World
- Poetic Justice
- Angel In Me
- Watch Your Back
- Demons
- Price Of Love
- Set You Free
- Let’s Drive
- Stay Lazy
- Beat The Bullet
Headlining tonight was Midnite City on their ‘Bite The Bullet UK Tour‘ in support of the newly realised album ‘Bite The Bullet‘.
With fog machine and contrasting lighting Midnite City started with ‘Live Like Ya Mean it‘, quite a catchy song well written and performed well, notably most people were singing along right from the start.
Keyboards as always blend well on all the songs performed including the melody on ‘Hardest Heart To Break‘ which sounded very smooth.
‘Archer’s Song‘ from the new album was a throwback sound of the 90’s pop rock melodies, a wonderful instrumental that really could benefit from more room on a live set for reflection.
The band closed out with ‘We Belong‘, ending an excellent night’s entertainment.
Midnite City performed a well balanced mix of new songs with previous classics putting together a fantastic show that was an uplifting feel good performance all night.
