Hot on the heels of their highly successful first headlining tour of the UK this summer, Midnite City are happy to announce that they will be heading out on the road again throughout the UK this November.
The ‘HERE COMES THE PARTY TOUR 2019‘ will follow the band’s much anticipated tour of Japan in October and will feature special guests Saints of Sin.

The band says “We already know that this tour is going to be off the scale and we cannot wait to see you all again!
We will be adding new songs to the set-list, as well as lots of new merchandise, and as a special thank you for all the amazing support you have given us, we will be recording a special ‘limited edition’ CD especially for the tour. Limited to just 100 copies, this CD is being specifically recorded for this tour and will ‘only’ be available at the shows in November. It won’t be released officially and also won’t be available anywhere to buy afterwards so you’ll have to get to one of the shows to get your copy.
These shows will also the be the last until Spring 2020 as we will be hard at work on our third album for the first part of next year. That means that you really DO NOT want to miss this one! We look forward to seeing you all soon.

‘Can’t Wait For The Nights…Can’t Wait For The Good Times.’

Review: Midnite City / ATLAS / Todd Michaels & The Screamin Hearts

Alberts, Nottingham, June 7th 2019

Reviewer: Dan Mann

Friday evening saw myself and the memsarb take a trip over to Alberts in Nottingham (RIP Spanky Van Dykes) to catch Midnite City on their current There Goes The Neighbourhood UK Tour.

Kicking off the evening’s proceedings were a new band to me, Todd Michaels & The Screamin Hearts.

In short, they had the looks and attitude, it was like taking a time machine back 25 years, however they seemed to be a band without direction, not really knowing exactly what rock genre they wanted to be. Too much chat, not enough tunes, unless they didn’t have more material I don’t know. Plus regular readers will know if I’m not fond of the vocals then it’s extremely difficult to like the band. However qudos to them.

Onto ATLAS, a band I am familiar with having listened to their debut album ‘In Pursuit Of Memory‘ quite a few times.

ATLAS came across from the onset as an experienced, tight sounding outfit, confidently presenting their catalogue of songs and if I’m honest, I much prefered them live to the album, certainly a band worth catching perform.

And so onto the headliners Midnite City, a band who’ve garnered a strong, loyal following from the off.

It was a bit of a suprise when vocalist Rob Wylde took to the stage. Why you ask? Well Rob had laryngitis and wasn’t going to be singing, the remainder of the band having vowed to cover vocal duties so as not to cancel the gig and disappoint their fans.

Instead Rob gallently stepped up to the plate and soldiered through where he could, with the remainder of the vocals covered admirably by Josh ‘Tabbie’ Williams and Pete Newdeck as well as being joined by ATLAS vocalist Craig Wells.

The result was a highly entertaining performance by the band, playing to an enthusiastic crowd and showing why their popularity continues to grow.

Hard Rock Hell announce HRH Road Trip XI – Ibiza 2020, which is being held on 6th to 13th May 2020. The line up includes: SKINDRED, Ted Poley (Danger Danger), REEF, Joe Lynn Turner, John Coghlan’s Quo, LA Guns, Jizzy Pearl’s Love/Hate, Ten Years After, Wayward Sos, Seething Akira, Massive, Midnite City, and more to be announced!

Bands – Bikes – Beers – Boats – Brotherhood: The 5 cornerstones of HRH Road Trips – the ultimate rock’n’roll holiday.

Held annually on the world-famous holiday island of Ibiza, the HRH RoadTrip has grown from its humble beginnings 10 years ago to become one of rock and metals most celebrated events.

The event attracts world famous rock and metal artists – such as Hawkwind, Whitesnake’s Bernie Marsden, Motorhead’s Phil Campbell, Reef, Rainbow’s Joe Lynn Turner, Skindred, Girlschool, LA Guns and The Quireboys – to play and soak up the sun and unique atmosphere of the Spanish leg of Hard Rock Hell.

Over 4000 rock fans attended this year’s event making it the biggest yet – and next year is shaping up to be even bigger and better.

Doesn’t matter if it’s lazing by the pool with banging tunes in the background, making shapes on the most famous dancefloors in the world such as Eden or taking in the spectacular sunsets on the beach … there’s something for everyone.

HRH Magazine’s Adam Kennedy had this to say about this year’s event “With the unpredictable nature of British summertime weather, a five-day hard rock festival located on the Balearic Island of Ibiza doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. You can leave those wellies at home, put your tent away, and comfortably enjoy the diverse bill of entertainment on display without worrying about having to dredge through muddy fields or being washed away by the rain.

As the White Isle awakens from its annual winter hibernation, flocks of revellers will arrive at the party capital of the world as HRH takes over San Antonio’s hotels, bars, and legendary night spots. The event itself once again offers a comprehensive bill of both established and emerging talent whilst encompassing acts that represent many of HRH festival’s different brands. There will also be the chance to take part in Ibiza traditions such as the customary HRH bike ride, pool and boat parties, or take the opportunity to experience the island’s world-famous sunsets with an early evening boat trip.

When Axl Rose penned the lyrics to Paradise City, he could well have been thinking about a location not too dissimilar to San Antonio. At the heart of Ibiza’s Rock n Roll paradise is one of the island’s most beloved super clubs “Eden”. Every year HRH Road Trip will take-over the famed night club and its many different rooms for the duration of the event. Nestled away between San Antonio Bay and the world-famous nightlife of San Antonio town, the 5,000 capacity club is the perfect spot to host an event such as HRH RTX.

Described by one festival punter as being like ‘Download with a pool’ HRH RTX entails several music filled days and plenty of sun, sea and San Miguel plus of course a healthy mix of rock, blues, metal, stoner and prog that will keep the party going until the wee hours during four music-filled club nights.”

HRH Road Trip XI is being held on 6th to 13th May 2020.  For all the details and packages visit or call 044+ 207 193 1164.

Review: Midnite City –There Goes The Neighbourhood

AOR Heaven (October 19th 2018)

There is a reality here that I still can’t quite get my head around, Midnite City have only been on the Melodic scene for a little over a year, the debut Album launch took place in Nottingham last October and it was one of the best Melodic Rock releases of 2017, and here we stand 12 months later and they have rapidly built up a very loyal following, this reviewer included, but that’s all down to the quality of the songs released to date. This band are certainly not going to rest on their laurels and album number two is an absolute cracker.

The musical style here is very much melodic hard rock, there’s a massive 80’s feel to it but it also has a modern feel, and just like its predecessor the backing vocals throughout are outstanding, it’s not just that they are there it’s where they are brought in and how good they are that makes the difference. Musically the guys are top notch, fluid beautiful guitar from Miles all the way through, Shawn’s keyboards that enhance the overall sound, such a rock solid backline of Pete (Drums) and Josh (Bass), the band has elevated the great work they produced on the first album and taken it to the next level.

Having listened to the album a lot over the last few weeks it has been difficult to swap to other music on my players, and it still demands more listening. Of the eleven tracks you just get the feeling that they were put together to bring out a different emotion, it’s not all party music, but still pretty upbeat throughout.

Any album you listen to and more tracks push their way to the front of your mind when listening, is one worth holding onto as it’s going to keep getting better and this is one, right now I can’t stop listening to. ‘Heaven’s Falling‘, just wow, what a wonderful song, and in many ways it epitomises this band, Midnite City are not a nostalgic look back on 80’s Hair Metal bands, they are a living beating modern band with a hard rock engine and so much freshness about what they are doing. The closer ‘Until The End‘ is another with a bit of everything in it, ‘Tonight You’re All I Need‘ has also been hitting the spot, love the keyboards, subtle but prominent, love it.

This album grabbed me straight away and hasn’t let go, part of that was because of the first single ‘Give Me Love‘ which really is my favourite song of the year so far, so catchy and full of life, definitely made to be sung at the top of your lungs at a gig, just a cracking song. But it’s not just a couple of stand out tracks here, this is an album you can sit and enjoy listening to in it’s entirety, if you are a melodic rock fan this one should really be right up your street, great balance, production, songs just a wonderful package. The guys have done it again, without a doubt a contender for Melodic Rock Album of the year, for those lucky enough to be attending the Album Launch at the Rockingham Aftershow Party on the 19th, have an amazing time, it’s a brilliant album.

Following on from their explosive self-titled debut album last year, Midnite City return all guns blazing on 19th of October 2018 via AOR Heaven with their sophomore release ‘There Goes The Neighbourhhood‘ – eleven tracks of fist pumping, high energy, feel-good, hair metal of the highest order!

The lush melodies, huge choruses and gargantuan hooks found on their debut album are all here in abundance alongside some true modern day glam anthems, fun commercial party rock, moody mid-paced hard rockers and heart wrenching power ballads big enough to light up an entire arena.

As with the first album, the winning formula has remained – all songs have been written by Rob Wylde, whilst Pete Newdeck has once again taken control of production, engineering and mixing duties.  With ‘There Goes The Neighbourhhood‘ the band has literally stepped everything up several notches to unbridled, head splitting proportions. The guitars are big, the drums are huge, there are walls and walls of harmonies and more synths than you’d find this side of a classic Bon Jovi album. In a nutshell, this album has everything but the kitchen sink!

With shows all over the UK and Europe in 2017/ 2018, Midnite City‘s sound is tighter than ever before.

So if you long for a band that still look, sound and perform like those long lost million selling forgotten bands of the late 80’s/ early 90’s, Midnite City and ‘There Goes The Neighbourhhood’ is the album for you.

Review: Midnite City – Midnite City

AOR Heaven (Oct 20th 2017)

While continuing as frontman of Welsh Legends Tigertailz, and with Teenage Casket Company off the horizon, Rob Wylde decided to put together a new Melodic Rock project, falling under the moniker of Midnite City and bringing together some excellent musicians including none other than Pete Newdeck (Drums as well as handling production duties).

This self-titled debut is a collection of eleven classy Melodic Rock tracks with that classic vibe, and often when bands attempt to do this it comes off as just a copycat type of thing, and it often doesn’t work, but this album sounds just right and fresh straight off the bat.

The first thing you notice right the way through is probably the clarity, from the laden keyboards, the very solid guitar, the tightly knitted rhythm section and the power of Rob’s vocals, they don’t sound like disparate elements at all, and there’s a terrific flow to this album, without making everything sound the same. There are songs here that will be crowd pleasers live, even on first listen the closing track ‘Think About You‘ had that big sound in the chorus and you could almost hear people singing along already and it’s not alone, you get the impression that this album was created with crowd interaction somewhere in the mind of the band.

The songs are like melodic rock velvet, not in any way sickly sweet, but just damn smooth. The standouts are probably the first single ‘Summer Of Our Lives‘, ‘Nothing’s Like Losing You‘ and ‘Last Beat Of My Heart‘ which provide a ridiculously good triple threat, having lived with this album for a while now there are certain tracks that I just keep coming back to and these along with the closing track “Think About You” are striking me the most, but it us just a damn strong album, great work from Rob and Pete in particular, but everyone plays their part in creating a terrific album.

Something else that Pete Newdeck adds to any band he’s been involved with is superb backing vocals, that distinctive voice just lifts something especially on tracks like ‘Things She Said‘ which oddly enough to me has a feel of classic Harem Scarem about it to begin with, and of course that is no bad thing, but this album is no homage it’s strength lies in what is done well and that’s the sound and the delivery. When the lists of Top Melodic Rock albums for 2017 are drawn up there’s no doubt that this one is going to be getting a number of votes, a new name on the scene and hopefully one that will be around for a long time, this album is being released on 20th October with a launch show in Nottingham right before the Rockingham Festival, can’t wait to hear these songs live.

Midnite City were formed in January 2017 by current Tigertailz front-man Steevi Jaimz and Teenage Casket Company member and songwriter) Rob Wylde.

Armed with an album’s worth of material written under the working title of Midnite City, Wylde approached friend Pete Newdeck (Newman/ Eden’s Curse, Blood Red Saints, Neon Strip) to produce three songs for him to shop to record labels.

Wylde sang, played guitar and bass on the recordings whilst Newdeck played drums, provided backing vocals and took care of the production. Wylde also brought in newcomer guitarist Miles Meakin who played  guitar solos on the recordings and former band mate James Martin (Vega) who laid down keyboards on the tracks. After being mixed by Newdeck, the songs were sent to Harry Hess (Harem Scarem) who mastered them at his studio in Canada.

The songs ‘Nothing’s Like Losing You‘, ‘Summer Of Our Lives‘ and ‘Think About You‘ were then sent out to labels and garnered considerable interest across the board, resulting in a deal being inked with German label AOR Heaven.

With a record deal in place, Newdeck officially joined the band as drummer in the Spring of 2017, alongside Miles Meakin on guitar and Shawn Charvette on keyboards. With the line up now in place, the band began work on their debut album at PNP Productions in Tewkesbury UK, completing the recordings in June 2017.

With a sound that the band describes as ‘Timeless, melodic rock/ hair metal’, Midnite City cover all bases when it comes to this much loved genre of music. From ultimate feel good, party rock anthems, to brooding melodic rock monsters, to spine tingling power ballads, they are all here in abundance, and then some.

With an album release being planned for October20th,  2017, Midnite City will be taking their explosive live show out on the road throughout the UK, Europe and the USA in late 2017/ 2018.
