Review: Stargazer – Trouble (Bonus Single)
Mighty Music (January 9th, 2026)

Being an artist myself, you write and write as much as you can for an album that you’ll hopefully eventually release and when you have a certain amount of songs, then comes the agonising decision, choosing what goes on that album and what doesn’t!
Then of course, what songs should be released as a single! Management want to release one song as a single, band want to release something else or the label wants something different entirely! In this case, who knows? But, what I do know is this is one of those agonising decisions because ‘Trouble’ is an absolute belter and it didn’t even make the album!
The blurb from the record label said this song is for fans of Deep Purple and Van Halen! Well, they got the VH one right but Purple? Nahhhhhhh, more like Dokken, Whitesnake, TNT as well as Van Halen.
This song precedes the tour that Stargazer have coming up supporting the mighty Michael Schenker Group this coming March.
I would be ecstatic if this was me so I can only imagine how the boys in Stargazer must be feeling!
As I remarked when I reviewed their new album ‘Stone Cold Creature’ (review here), this band is melodic hard rock at its 80’s best and Guitarist William Ernstsen‘s riffs would stand shoulder to shoulder with anything released in the 80’s. It’s powerful, straight ahead, has a killer chorus and the solo, my word the solo is everything you want to hear from a killer guitarist! The chorus just gets in your head and absolutely deserves to stay there! Tore of course sounds great on this as does the rest of the band! Also the production is fkn cracking so again a shout out for Soren Andersen!
All this being said, this should’ve been on ’Stone Cold Creature’ but something had to give and sadly it was this killer song and that as they say is the ’Trouble‘!

Line-up:
Tore André Helgemo – vocals
William Ernstsen – guitar
Jomar Johansen – bass
Svend Skogheim – drums
Sondre Bjerkset – keyboards
