Sometimes when bands tour, something magic happens and they visit towns and cities that truly welcome them with open arms.
Kingston Upon Hull proudly welcomed Robert Jon & The Wreck, which was the first time they have played in the City.
Moreover, Robert Jon took the time and gave us the locally loved, and accepted tradition of dropping the letter ‘H’ and pronouncing the city as ‘ULL’.
The roof was raised during ‘Oh Miss Carolina‘ as RJ encouraged the audience to take the lead on the chorus.
The set list was full including many extended sections , solos and duets including a guitar and keyboard sound off with a dynamic back and forth, mesmerizing the audience mid-way through ‘Cold Night‘.
Ironically the venue was hot with beads of sweat pooling on the excited, shoulder to shoulder crowd.
The gig was truly captivating , an organic live performance with a slick blend of honey and rock’n’roll.
Robert John & The Reck are on currently playing shows in the UK on the European leg of the ‘Sittin’ Pretty Tour‘.
