Blues rock royalty, Walter Trout will be heading back to the UK for a headline tour in May calling through Buxton, Frome, London, Holmfirth, Gateshead and finishes at the Rory Gallagher Festival in Ireland. Support on the Buxton to Gateshead shows comes from the Danielle Nicole Band.
Walter Trout is the beating heart of the modern blues rock scene. Respected by the old guard. Revered by the young guns. Adored by the fans who shake his hand after the show each night, and after five decades in the game, Trout still remains a talismanic figure.  The New Jersey maestro spent time in John Mayall’s Blues Breakers and Canned Heat before embarking on a prolific solo career and  his most recent releases have seen him at his most creative and powerful yet, from ‘The Blues Came Callin‘ (2014) and ‘Battle Scars‘ (2015) to ‘We’re All In This Together‘ (2017) and ‘Survivor Blues‘ (2019).

His most recent release is ‘Survivor Blues‘ which came out in January last year.  He is no ordinary artist and this is no ordinary covers album. From the day he conceived the project to the moment he counted off the first song in the studio, Walter Trout had a bolder plan for ‘Survivor Blues‘. “I’m riding in my car sometimes,” says the US blues titan. “I’ve got a blues station on – and here’s another band doing ‘Got My Mojo Workin‘. And there’s a little voice in me that says, ‘Does the world need another version of that song?’ So I came up with an idea. I didn’t want to do ‘Stormy Monday‘ or ‘Messin’ With The Kid‘. I didn’t want to do the blues greatest hits. I wanted to do old, obscure songs that have hardly been covered. And that’s how ‘Survivor Blues‘ started…

Walter Trout is currently working on a new studio album.

After releasing his latest album ‘Rock N Roll: A Tribute to Chuck Berry‘, Mike Zito will tour the UK in April 2020. Tickets for the 8-date tour are available via –  www.mikezito.com/shows.

He may be one of the most lauded artists in the contemporary blues arena today, and rightfully so, but for the former member of Royal Southern Brotherhood, Mike Zito, the thing that counts the most is maintaining his honesty, authenticity and integrity. Those are the qualities that have steered Zito’s career since the beginning and continue to define every effort he’s offered since.

I have nothing to hide; it seems my honesty is what people relate to most,” he once told Vintage Guitar magazine. “Anders Osborne told me early on, ‘If you don’t believe what you’re singing, you’ll never be a good singer.’ I try not to write fluff. I try to make every word count.

That point became convincingly clear with his last record 2018’s First Class Life, a collection of songs that detailed his journey from addiction to sobriety and the subsequent success he achieved through his award-winning body of work. A multiple award winner and nominee, Zito has built his career on an ability to tap into tradition while maintaining contemporary credence all at the same time.

Rock N Roll: A Tribute to Chuck Berry‘ finds him broadening his boundaries still further even as it marks a return to his roots. The album consists of 20 Chuck Berry classics performed by Zito and an impressive array of 21 guest guitarists, among them Joe Bonamassa, Walter Trout, Eric Gales, Robben Ford, Sonny Landreth, Luther Dickinson, Albert Castiglia, Anders Osborne and, significantly, Chuck’s grandson, Charles Berry III.

“This was a very special project for me,” Zito says. “I lived in Chuck’s hometown of St. Louis for 32 years, and I worked at a small musical instrument store where his drummer also happened to be employed. Chuck’s son would drop by on occasion as well. He was an icon, and rightfully so. I’ve been playing his songs since I was a kid. He was a tremendous influence on my career, and, of course, on many other musicians’ as well.”

Produced by Zito himself, the album was recorded at his own Marz Studios and mixed and mastered by David Farrell. “We recorded the basic tracks and then sent them to each guest musician,” Zito recalls. “They added their parts and then sent the files back to us. The process took a year to complete.”

Says Alan Nimmo: “I am really looking forward to embarking on our 2020 Uk tour as it feels like ages since we have had the pleasure and opportunity to play on home turf for our amazing and loyal fans! I’m especially exited to get out there and properly showcase the new line-up too! There’s a great atmosphere and camaraderie among us in the band and we’re at our happiest when we’re together on the road so I know that energy will transcend outwards to the audience when we take to the stage. We’ve been working hard in Morse code studios in Glasgow putting together our new album which will be released later in the year, but we can’t wait to let our fans hear some new music live in April! I’m very pleased with how the new songs and album is shaping up and how the song writing quality and standard has gone up again. No matter what we do… the King King sound is always there! Can’t wait to see all those familiar King King family faces in the crowd!

Having played over 20 festivals in 2018 and being special guests on Europe’s Tour The Earth European 2018 tour, this will be the band’s first tour since February 2019 and the first tour with the new line-up – Alan Nimmo (vocals/ guitar), Andrew Scott (drums), Zander Greenshields (bass) and Jonny Dyke (organ/piano). Fans can also look forward to a new single coinciding with the tour.

King King, who have been going from strength to strength in recent years, took their pedigree to the next level with the release of their fourth studio album ‘Exile & Grace’. As of 2019, IMPERIAL AGE have self released 2 studio albums and 1 EP

Eric Gales will embark on 9-date UK tour in May and June 2020. The tour follows the release of his album ‘The Bookends’ via Provogue/Mascot Label Group earlier in 2019. The album features collaborations with B. Slade, Doyle Bramhall II and Beth Hart.

A 48-hour Planet Rock pre-sale will start on Tuesday 19th November at 10am via www.planetrocktickets.co.uk and will go on general sale on Thursday 21st November via www.thegigcartel.com.

Special guest on shows is the critically acclaimed British Blues rock guitarist *Danny Bryant. Danny will support the American blues-rock guitarist on 7 of the 9 dates (except for Leeds and Glasgow). Hailed as “a national blues treasure,” Bryant recently released his 11th studio album ‘Means of Escape’ via Jazzhaus Records.

The challenge for making ‘The Bookends’ was for Gales to challenge himself. “As a guitar player it’s been established that I can play a little bit, just a little bit,” he smiles. But for this album he not only wanted to push himself as a musician, but also as a vocalist, to build up his vocal discography. “What spearheaded that was the artists that I have on the record,” he says.

Multi-platinum selling band Skid Row will embark on a full UK tour this year, which will see the New Jersey rockers playing shows across the UK, starting in WINTERSTORM FEST, Scotland on 29th November and ending at The Mill, Birmingham on 8th December. Tickets are on sale on 19th June at 9am on Eventbrite.co.uk.

Skid Row started in 1986 when a group of New Jersey kids, armed with their punk and metal
attitude, and a collection of riff-heavy, high-octane songs, set out to conquer the world, one
concert at a time. This determined and focused approach proved to be an unquestionable
success, as the group went on to clock up numerous Top Ten singles, Gold and multi-Platinum selling albums and a Number 1 on the Billboard albums chart. In other words, the world was theirs.

They might have conquered the world several times over, but guitarist Snake Sabo admits the success hasn’t changed him or the band, and Skid Row are focused on making more earth shattering music. He says: “I will always be that 16-year-old kid in front of the mirror, pretending to be Ace Frehley or Michael Schenker. It’s still about writing a great song with your friends, praying it connects with someone. That has never left me. That willfulness will always exist, and there’s so much left to say!

Joining Skid Row for a special co-headline show at Winterstorm Fest, Scotland is Hollowstar.
Surging into the top five in the ‘Best New Band’ category at Planet Rock’s 2019 awards,
Hollowstar are carving their own route to the top, paved with hard-hitting riffs and cemented by melodic yet inherently impactful lyrics.

Hollowstar will also be supporting Skid Row on every date of their UK tour apart from
Birmingham, along with quintessential British rock’n’roll band The Quireboys. Following the band’s inception in 1984, The Quireboys are certainly enjoying a revival – selling out venues around the world. 2019 saw the release of their new studio album ‘Amazing Disgrace’ – their 12th – on April 5th.

Ultimate sleaze hard rock band Crashdiet will be joining Skid Row on five out of the eight dates of their UK tour. “Go big or go home” has been their motivational “catchphrase” for the Swedish group ever since they started out in 2000. Their undeniable flirt with the 80s big arena rock bands like Guns N’ Rose, Kiss and Skid Row themselves, combined with a notable element of punk, has made them a significant name in the revival of the sleaze and glam genre. In September 2019, they will release their fifth studio album.

Matt Mitchell & The Cold Hearts will be joining Skid Row at both Winterstorm Fest, Scotland and The Mill, Birmingham. Matt started out singing and writing songs in his late teens, leaning his craft in several bands early on and Matt Mitchell & The Cold Hearts is Matt’s solo project with an array of extremely talented guests players. The project got off to a great start, with the first single ‘Black Diamonds’ released on January 25th 2019, being championed across the UK and the rest of the globe.

Following the release of his new album ‘Behold Electric Guitar, Paul Gilbert will be taking to the road and playing 9 shows through the UK in September.

The Illinois born, Mr. Big co-founder and Racer X star is now on his 15th solo studio album and continues to enthrall. His latest album was released on Music Theories Recordings in May and received a wave of critical praise with Planet Rock Magazine calling it “immaculate”, Classic Rock lauding its “fret-scorching fireworks” and Powerplay calling him an “astonishing talent” amongst others.

Talking about the upcoming tour, Gilbert says; “After a month of touring in the USA, my band and I are deep into the songs, and warmed up for our upcoming shows in Russia, Europe, and the U.K.! One of my best moments was when my old Racer X bandmate, Bruce Bouillet came to a show and afterwards wrote, ‘Paul and his band killed it… I’ll go so far as saying this is the best I’ve seen him play.’ Thanks Bruce! And thank YOU. See you on tour!”

After his recent move to Portland, Oregon, Paul set out to connect with the best and grooviest musicians in the area, and record an album in his brand new hometown. Brian Foxworth (drums) and Asher Fulero (keyboards) were both obvious choices to play Paul’s mix of rock, blues, jazz, and pop flavors. When Paul’s regular Portland bassist Kelly Lemieux was unavailable (due to his touring with Buckcherry), Paul reached out to New Orleans bass legend, Roland Guerin. Roland came to Portland weeks before the recording dates for intense rehearsing and arranging sessions.
