Rockposer Dot Com! asked me to review this – and it’s nothing like I was expecting to hear!

We have Joel Hoekstra on guitar, Tony Franklin on bass and Todd Vinciguerra on drums. Before receiving it, I thought it was going to be the usual shred fest that one might expect …… nope! The album has that sort of stuff, for sure, but there’s something else going on.

The closest word that fits is “imagination” – because I think you’re going to need one. At first, I was taken aback due to what I thought I was going to get so it took a couple listens as it varies so much from track to track. The musicianship is top notch and (remember that “imagination” word?) there seems to be complete artistic freedom here – I say that because this album was created from the bottom up.

Todd put his drums down on his own, then it was up to Tony and Joel to paint the picture. It’s a very cool idea, daring too, as it must be great to just get a drum track to do what you like over. Of course, there’s a danger it can all turn into a complete mess but, with the personnel involved, thankfully we get something quite stunning and extremely well put together. We’ve got ethereal trippy sounds, pounding rhythm sections, cracking guitars and some really interesting keyboards, which allows you to paint pictures in your mind.

It’s a sit back in your favourite chair with the lights off and headphones on album as you’re going on a trip to say the least – and I mean that in a very sincere way!! Brilliant!!!
