Review: Todd Michael Hall – Sonic Healing

Review: Todd Michael Hall – Sonic Healing

This album was inspired by the music I grew up listening to“. That statement is straight from the man himself and, let me say, he is true to his word! ‘Sonic Healing‘ doesn’t rely on studio wizardry but, instead, on good, old fashioned, hard hitting, catchy songs.

Todd’s vocal range is fantastic – in fact, he put me in mind of Geddy Lee – but don’t go expecting any prog here. If you’re a fan of Rush, Boston, Styx, Reo Speedwagon and, at one point, Kiss, then I suggest you give this album a listen.

I prefer the second half, not saying the first half is bad (because it certainly isn’t), but it just seems as if the songs start to open up a little more. I guarantee if you went to see this band live, you’d be dancing along to every one of the songs!
