Middle Eastern heavy rock titans Winterburn have released their high-octane new single and accompanying music video, ‘The Abyss‘.

Fronted by acclaimed guitarist and vocalist Naser Mestarihi, who is the first West Asian/Middle Eastern artist endorsed by iconic brands Gibson Guitars and DR Strings, Winterburn stand as a leading force in the Middle East’s Hard Rock and Heavy Metal scene. Alongside Bahrain’s premier rhythm section, Mohammed Al Meshkhas (bass/vocals) and Abdulla Abul (drums), the group has built a formidable reputation for unadulterated, high-octane rock ’n’ roll.
Drawing critical acclaim from esteemed media outlets including Classic Rock Magazine, Metal Hammer, and Rolling Stone, Winterburn ’s status as a premier live act was cemented when they were handpicked to open for Guns N’ Roses in Bahrain, making history as the first all-Arab band to support the group. The milestone earned them direct backstage praise and endorsement from rock royalty including Guns N’ Roses’ bassist, Duff McKagan.
While previous studio releases saw Mestarihi tracking guitars, bass, and vocals alongside guest session drummers, ‘The Abyss‘ marks a monumental shift in the band’s evolution as the very first song to feature the full permanent line-up across all instruments.
“‘The Abyss’ is the first song to feature the full band on all instruments, previously it would be myself and a guest drummer,” explains frontman Naser Mestarihi. “The song captures Winterburn at its peak: an amalgamation of traditional heavy rock with a modern sound, big riffs, groovy basslines, pounding drums, a big chorus, and a blistering twin lead guitar solo.”
By bridging traditional guitar-driven muscle with a distinctive international profile, Winterburn continue to break barriers for Arab rock musicians across the globe.
