British rock band Cats in Space will release their seventh studio album, ‘Suit of Armour‘, on November 6th, 2026 via Cherry Red Records on the Esoteric Antenna label. Available on classic black vinyl and CD, ‘Suit of Armour‘ once again raises the bar, taking listeners on a journey of epic proportions in a way only Cats in Space can.
Guitarist Greg Hart says:
“Our last album, ‘Time Machine‘ (review here), was our first for the label, so we were testing the water carefully. This time, however, the gloves are off. We have spent more than 18 months recording what we truly believe is our finest and most grandiose record yet. Emotionally charged and shaped by the many facets of the human condition, we guarantee this conceptual journey will blow everyone away. The fans want epic Cats in Space? Well, hold on to your hats, because this album is full of it. ‘Time Machine‘ was merely the starter – ‘Suit of Armour‘ is the full banquet… a medieval banquet of epic rock, if you will.”
The album is also the first to feature Chris Childs (Thunder, Tyketto) on bass and Sam Wood (Black Star Riders, Uriah Heep) on lead guitar. Both deliver standout performances that help shape the band’s evolving sound. The record also features backing vocals from Julie “The Duchess” Maguire, while lead vocalist Damien Edwards turns in a breathtaking performance.
Packed with towering harmonies, sweeping orchestration, pounding piano, and thunderous drums, Suit of Armour once again draws inspiration from legends such as Queen, ELO, and Styx, while also revealing a stronger hint this time of the classic Thin Lizzy sound, with waves of harmony guitars throughout.
Wrapped in stunning conceptual gatefold artwork and accompanied by striking imagery reminiscent of the classic Hipgnosis era, ‘Suit of Armour‘ looks set to become an essential release for fans of classic, epic, 70s-inspired rock.
The band will release three singles and accompanying videos ahead of the album, with the lead track, ‘Miracle‘, due to land in September with the band undertaking a UK tour next March to support the album – all shows listed below, purchase tickets – here.
