‘Till The End of Time‘ follows ‘Better Days Ahead‘ and ‘Live to Ride‘, adding another chapter to an album shaped by the different sides of Chris Johnson’s musical and personal history.
Rather than fitting neatly into one genre, Johnson’s music draws naturally from Country, Rock, Blues and the sounds he has absorbed throughout a career spent both on stage and behind the scenes. ‘Tales From the Cowboy Palace‘ brings those experiences together in a collection rooted in real life, storytelling and the musical culture that has surrounded him for decades.
A Southern California native, Chris Johnson grew up in a family of professional musicians and began playing and performing at an early age before studying at Hollywood’s Musicians Institute. His career has included Rumor Haz-It, The Big Johnson Band and Blues Train, alongside performances with musicians including Gregg Bissonette, Matt Bissonette, T Lavitz, Mike Thompson and Denny Freeman.
Today he fronts The Hollywood Hillbillies, bringing together the Country, Southern Rock and Blues influences that have followed him throughout his career. The new album features Jordan Ziff of Ratt and Trans-Siberian Orchestra on guitar and Federico Delfino, known for his work with Sebastian Bach, Madman Theory and Mercury Riots, on bass.
Johnson’s story extends well beyond his own recordings. As a respected guitar and studio technician, he has worked around artists and producers including Eddie Van Halen, Warren Haynes, John Fogerty, Steve Lukather, Steve Stevens, Tommy Shaw and Rick Rubin.
He is also the owner of Hollywood Studio Rentals, Drum Paradise Los Angeles and The Cowboy Palace Saloon, the legendary San Fernando Valley honky-tonk that gives the forthcoming album its name.
