On June 12, Swedish cinematic metal band Nocean will release ‘Insight of Valeria‘ – the third single from their upcoming concept album, where music, storytelling, and visual expression are tightly interwoven.
Blending symphonic metal with cinematic drama, the band tells the story of Valeria, a mage who discovers that the world is trapped in an eternal time loop. An instrumental version of the track and a music video will also be available.
The album is part of a larger multimedia project that will be performed as a live concert experience with film and projections, in a theatrical setting – similar to Nocean’s previous production ‘Aurora: The Weight of A Shadow‘, which was staged at 17 theaters and music venues across Sweden.
The entire project is independently produced by the band – from the music and script to visuals and technical execution. To bring their fantasy world to life, Nocean combines advanced AI tools with traditional post-production techniques, ensuring that every scene, character, and environment is carefully refined and artistically consistent.
“AI is a creative tool for us – not a shortcut. We use it to build a world that matches the scale and emotion of the story,” says lead vocalist Hanna Olsson.
About Nocean:
Stockholm-based Nocean combines melodic metal with progressive elements, cinematic drama, and powerful live performances. Since their formation in 2014, the band has released three albums – one through a record label – and toured Europe multiple times, including performances at festivals like Sweden Rock Festival. With their own record and production company, Nocean has broken new ground with the concept album ‘Aurora: The Weight of a Shadow‘ (2021), which was brought to life through a unique tour across 18 Swedish theater stages. There, the band merged gothic animation, custom-designed lighting, and live music into an immersive experience.
As one of the most exciting underground acts in the Swedish metal scene, Nocean has built its audience outside the traditional circuit, performing on stages where the genre is rarely represented. Their latest singles, ‘Break of Spell‘ (2023), ‘From the Shallows‘ (2024) and ‘Insight of Valeria‘ (2025), continue to explore Nocean’s fictional fantasy world as the band now works toward their fourth album.
