Review: Eclipse, Collateral, Spin
Salt Box, Nottingham (May 11th, 2025)

It was yet another new venue for me, nestled next to Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena is the Salt Box.
Upon entering I was greeted by the lovely Lisa from Rock Vibes, who does so much for live music in Nottingham. I was also handed a t-shirt for this coming Saturday’s Mayhem Festival, which is being held at the same venue. All of us togs were looking rather resplendent in them too!
First band of this three band bill were a band I knew absolutely nothing about, my web / social media searches drew a blank too. It transpired that Spin‘s lead singer is the chap who runs Wakefield’s Venue 23 (also hosting Mayhem Festival).
A decent set, by the band (didn’t manage to see the setlist), who showed they are no slouches when it comes to a live performance. Hopefully they’ll become better known in the future.

Next were a band I’m shall we say more than a little familiar with! Those fine chaps from Collateral did what they do best, delivering an energetic, entertaining set to an appreciative, sizable crowd.
There were certainly plenty of Collateral fans in the audience, singing along and dancing around. Yet another thoroughly enjoyable set from the guys.
Set list:
Glass Sky
Sin In The City
Original Criminal
Final Stand
No Place For Love
On The Long Road
Just One Of Those Days
Elysium
Big Shot
And so to the headliners, Swedish melodic hard rockers Eclipse, another band I’ve seen play on quite a few occasions. The crowd were certainly more than a little eager to see them perform their Scandi rock!
Maybe it was because of a smaller, more intimate venue, but Eclipse were the best I’ve seen them for several years. The band were obviously thoroughly enjoying themselves, feeding off the audience’s energy. It was an excellent set, and one I thoroughly enjoyed.
Set list:
Roses on Your Grave
Falling to My Knees
Run for Cover
The Storm
Anthem
All I Want
Saturday Night (Hallelujah)
Battlegrounds (Acoustic)
The Downfall of Eden
Black Rain
Twilight
The Hardest Part Is Losing You
Viva La Victoria
