The New Saints (UK) are back!. The band are set to release their brand new album ‘Soul Giver‘ and single ‘Mercury God’ on Friday 2^nd, May, 2025. The artwork was designed by the band.

Following on from the success of the ‘Resonate’ EP a re-energised New Saints got back to work in the studio with producer Andy Mills to record the rest of the tracks for the long awaited follow up to the 2011 debut, ‘Songs For The Black Hearted’.

Originally pencilled in for a late 2024 release, Andy and the band decided to slow things slightly and add more finishing touches along with a couple more tracks, resulting in the killer second album now entitled ‘Soul Giver’, this will see the long awaited second album available on all major worldwide streaming platforms 15 years after the first.

The album features 9 songs and revisits the resonate EP with remixed and remastered versions plus another 5 brand new songs.

At the same time the band release a single taken from ‘Soul Giver’. The track ‘Mercury God’ is about the evil money makers, thieves and liars that take people for granted …. “The Mercury God is the god of Thieves and Trickery!”

The album is available on all major streaming platforms on May 2^nd 2025.

Album Release Party:

The band will be headlining ‘Rock For Spon’ on May 10^th, 2025 at the Robin in Bilston. This is a charity gig, raising funds for Compton Care and in memory of Andy ‘Spon’ Spencer, a much loved band member who passed due to cancer and was cared for in his final days by Compton Care.

Biography:

New Saints were born 2010 in the heart of the Black Country Wolverhampton England when cousin’s Bass player Andy ‘Spon’ Spencer and Guitarist / Vocalist Connor Emms came together to write a selection of songs for their own enjoyment. However, it was quickly realised these songs were sounding very special, and lifelong friend Dez Wootton was called in on drums to see how things sounded when brought to life, and the bands nucleus was then formed.

Later that same year the band entered the studio having 13 tracks completed and the debut album ‘Songs For The Black Hearted’ was recorded. Now armed with a product that surpassed expectation and building on a reputation carved by Connor and Dez who had toured with acts such as Skid Row, Anthrax, Black Label Society, Skin and many more in a previous band, interest spiralled upwards very quickly, and the band were invited once again to play with Skin and many more dates which followed.

After a couple of guitar line-up changes Andy, Connor and Dez were joined by another long term friend Rob Grosvenor on guitar, this line up was a perfect match and the band carried on relentlessly playing live to promote the album. In late 2011 disaster struck when Andy ‘Spon’ Spencer was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The band, being such a close unit were absolutely devastated for their brother. However, Andy being the tower of strength he was pulled the band back up and was adamant he wanted to fulfil as many dates as he could. Andy carried on playing until he physically couldn’t lift the bass anymore and another family member Pete Emms was brought in to finish any remaining obligations.

Sadly, the unthinkable happened when Andy ‘Spon’ Spencer passed away in 2012. The band struggled to carry on without their fallen brother and with the exception of the annual ‘Rock for Spon’ event which raises money for local cancer charities, a hiatus was called.

Fast forward to 2023 and joined by yet another long term friend and former member, along with Connor and Dez of the Bob Catley (Magnum) touring band, Jon Hayward on bass, once again the Saints ride again and start writing new music.

After a meeting with producer Andy Mills the band entered the studio again, and as before, expectation was surpassed resulting in the follow up album ‘Resonate’ being recorded. Once again the band were invited back onto the live circuit and a date with Geoff Tate’s Queensryche saw a full house chanting the New Saints name.

So… after 13 years the Saints are back!!.. with brand new harder edged material and explosive live shows!!…

A long awaited second album is due for release in 2025.

The band are currently booking up shows for 2025 & 2026 to support their album release.
