The Heavy Souls, the heavy blues rock powerhouse from the steel city of Sheffield, England are delighted to announce the release of their new single, ‘The Abyss‘, the third song to be released from their forthcoming debut album, ‘Have You Got Soul‘, slated for release on Fri 31 January 2025.

Lead singer, Clarke Vaughan spoke about ‘The Abyss‘, “This one was written by Ben (guitarist), it’s a real brooding number that builds and builds. It’s about being in the deepest darkest depths, struggling to find worth, feeling lost, feeling invisible, not being heard and like you are ultimately close to ‘The Abyss‘.
“The opening line “Staring down a tunnel, of eternal sleep” sets the scene for the song throughout. The main riff and hook create a moody, dark atmosphere and really lends itself to the lyrics, while the chorus is powerful and full of emotion that builds until it falls away at the end. It’s a great song to sing and one I can relate to.”
