Main man, Arjun Bhishma said of ‘Wrong Side Of Town‘: “This one will get you dancing but underlying the groove is a tale of feeling out of place, that everything seems an up hill struggle but ultimately its down to us to make things happen, to make our own choices… which way to turn at the crossroads?”
He continued, “’Salvation‘ is a beautiful melting pot between classic R’n’B, rock ‘n’ roll, and a voluptuous helping of gospel and soul. It features heartfelt vocals & lyrics straight from the depths of life, accompanied by a wide range of soulful guitars, traditional eastern instruments, and gospel vocals… all the way down to the dirty grit of the blues. We mainly recorded it in an analogue environment with us playing in one room, the warmth and humanity can be experienced in every single one of these songs, and we hope it provides an emotional and inclusive experience to you all.”
Gorilla Riot are a 5-piece, dirty rock n’ roll blues machine. Utilising a dual-pronged guitar attack with multi-part vocal harmonies; they play raucous blues-based rock, combining elements of grunge, stoner, and country to create a full-on high energy sonic experience.
Main man, Arjun Bhishma, surrounded himself with the best talent in Manchester to form Gorilla Riot. Arjun, is joined by Charly T. (guitars & vocals), Deggy (bass), and Matt Talbot (skins) with Luci Vee (backing vocals).
They have built their reputation as a hard living, hard playing, genre-straddling rock n roll band that can draw forth tears of joy one minute and then the pain of a heart-felt lament, the next.
They have entered the charts twice in recent times… on ‘Earache Records presents New Wave Of Rock N Roll’ compilation album, as well as ‘NWOCR Volume 1’ – both hitting Top #10 in their respective charts.
Equally at home acoustically or electrically, they have toured extensively with headline shows in Spain and France, and across the UK. That reputation saw them invited to join sold out shows with REEF and also Airbourne and The Darkness.
