Review: Sam Millar – Virtual Summer

Review: Sam Millar – Virtual Summer

Earache Records (September 27th, 2024)

Reviewer: Jason Hopper

I must start by stating what everyone needs to know about this release. It is not a new album. If you are not following Sam Millar on social media (and I am not), you would not know that he has retitled his album from last year, ‘More Cheese Please’, added a few instrumentals, one remixed song, and is releasing it on Earache Records, which is the reason for this release.  ‘More Cheese Please’ was released independently.

There’s no sense in reviewing the album, as I reviewed it last year. You can find my review (here). I did enjoy the album and rated it highly. I do take issue with artists and/or labels that look to take advantage in misrepresenting an album by calling it “new” in the press release. Nothing here was re-recorded. It’s the same album with a few throwaway tracks. If you have ‘More Cheese Please’, then save your money.
