The Summit Releases New Music ‘Hit Me Up’

The Summit, the vintage rock and roll band out of Cincinnati, OH., has a new, melodic, soulful single, ‘Hit Me Up‘ out now from their forthcoming EP, ‘Firebirds and Aviators‘.

The Summit is Chris Scott (Vocals), Mike Hennel (drums, vocals), Coty Hicks (guitar), Michael Walker (bass) and Brian Arkkelin (guitar, vocals).

Chris Scott, “Hit Me Up‘ was a song that reminded us all of the good ‘ole times of classic rock and roll. Most of us grew up on classic rock and when we were toying with the sound, Coty’s riff immediately took me to ZZ Top and Bad Company. Both groups are obviously huge influences on us all, so writing lyrics that spiritually took us back to more simpler times of “driving” rock and roll was clearly on my mind – aviators on, windows down and music cranked!” Scott continues, “When Will Turpin (Collective Soul), our producer, and Mike Hennel were discussing the overall sound in the studio, they instantly tagged the feel as, ‘Firebirds and Aviators‘, which is the name of our forthcoming EP.

Hit Me Up‘ was produced and mixed by Will Turpin and Jonathan Beckner at Real 2 Reel.

You can catch The Summit out on the road with good friends ZZ Top this Fall. They will also be re-joining the legendary trio’s Raw Whisky tour on November 4th in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
