Both bands are on a high off the back of critically acclaimed albums.
Scarlet Rebels released Show Your Colours in August on ROAR – Rock Of Angels Records
While Revival Black release their debut album Step In Line on Fri 11 Oct after a string of well-received singles.

Wayne Doyle of Scarlet Rebels said, “We’ve been opening for bands all over the place for a few years now, doing a few headline shows along the way. We’ve been wary about taking the plunge of doing a headline tour off our own backs, but when we were asked if we’d be interested in co-headlining with Revival Black, it was a no brainer, they’re a fantastic band, a great bunch of lads and their album is absolutely brilliant.

To see the interest it’s garnered, watching the dates flock in and with Planet Rock on board as well, it’s going to be absolutely epic. We’re massively proud and humbled to be on board and hugely excited to be taking the ‘Show Your Colours’ album on the road. Bring it on!”

Ash Janes of Revival Black added, “The past six months have been absolutely insane for us. We’ve had some incredible opportunities and played with some amazing artists, but nothing has excited us as much as hitting the road and co-headlining with a band we’re all huge fans of and in support of our debut album ‘Step In Line’.

We crossed paths with Scarlet Rebels earlier this year and knew instantly that we’d be a perfect fit to take to the road with. The excitement from the fans has already been overwhelming and with the support of Planet Rock behind us, on such an extensive tour, the UK really won’t know what hit it. We’re bringing our “A” game and taking the Step In Line live show right across the country. We really couldn’t be prouder, it’s going to be huge.”

Liverpool’s Revival Black, are delighted to announce that their new single ‘No Secrets, No Lies‘, will be released on Fri 09 Aug 2019.

No Secrets, No Lies‘ will be available worldwide, across all digital download and streaming services and is accompanied by a video shot in Snowdonia National Park, Wales.

Guitarist, Alan Rimmer, explained, “This song was one of the first that we worked on together. The song is about coming out of a dark period emotionally; about putting your trust in someone and for them to then break that. Its defiantly one of the darker songs from the album.

“Musically, the main lick that starts the song was something that I came up with from old style double stop blues riffs and this set the tone for the vibe of the song. The verses went through several versions but we resorted back to the original stabbing idea you can hear. The chorus is the first idea that came about as we wanted a driving chord progression that let the vocals tell the story, Adam added a lead lick over the top of the chorus that added a texture that allows the chord progression to flow.

It’s a cool song to play, and again lets Dan open up those awesome pipes of his.”

Revival Black (previously known as ‘Black Cat Bones’) are a classic sounding hard rock band, striking out of the cultural heartland that is Liverpool, England.

They have recently signed to leading management agency, TMR and plan a sonic incursion on the public with their forthcoming 10-song debut album, slated for release in Oct 2019.

Following the addition of vocal powerhouse, Dan Byrne, the band have been revitalised and re-imagined, bringing a whole new attitude and drive that warranted a new name and fresh identity. ‘No Secrets, No Lies‘ is just the fourth single to be released under their new name of Revival Black and will feature on their forthcoming debut album.

Review: Revival Black – Step In Line

Cargo Records (October 11th 2019)

Reviewer: Paul Saripo

Step In Line’ the debut album from Revival Black is a freight train of bluesy hard rock ‘n’ Roll, its simply brilliant from start to finish. This album which is due release on 11th October 2019, has not stopped playing in my house for a few days now and its not going to be removed from my daily playlist anytime soon.

This 10-track album opens with ‘Wide Awake’, the band released this as a single in April 2019 following the new arrival of Dan Byrne on vocals who stretches his pipes well throughout every track on the album. Next is ‘So Alive’, a follow up single released in June 2019. This is enjoyably hard ‘n’ heavy, with a bass intro from Jamie Hayward that I feel delivers a complimentary nod over to Lemmy.

The momentum of Ash Janes on drums continues with ‘Give You The World’. Sounds that come through here are reminiscent of Aerosmith back in the day.

Both fast string men, Alan Rimme & Adam Kerbache work in synergy to create guitar work with sleazy Louisiana riffs.

This band writes catchy hooks and no exception to this is ‘No Secrets, No Lies’ this will have you on your feet horns in the air singing along. This is one of my favourites from the album, along with the massive potential of ‘The River’ which is an epic song delivering everything one needs to form an anthem. Along with the sleazy classic ‘All I Wanna Do’ with nifty and sharp lead guitar work.

Bluesy riffs and strong bass lines can be found over on ‘Midnight Oil’  a solid groove well presented with the vocal power of Dan let louse demonstrating the range and originality of this talented rock ensemble.

If I had one thing to change it would be the ending on ‘Silverline’ it doesn’t have one. It’s a classic fade out that maybe doesn’t do the song justice on the Album.

These guys know how to create some hard and sustained rock music without drifting off on a tangent. They can write well and have some catchy hooks, particularly on ‘No Secrets, No Lies’   The album is heartfelt kick ass hard as hell Rock that doesn’t let you down, including title track ‘Step In Line’ that demonstrates that Revival Black, deserve attention.

Since I began to play this album, I haven’t been able to stop. The riffs are hard and heavy, guitars that punch out catchy riffs with sounds of the deep south. Bass that commands attention and the vocals from Dan are solid and have a powerful range that he demonstrates complete control, think early Robert Plant meets David Coverdale. There is something special about rock music and this Album has everything from the rock swagger of 1970 to the heavy packed sounds of today.

This is original and organic rock; these guys have a brilliant future.

Liverpool’s Revival Black, are delighted to announce their new single – ‘Wide Awake‘, released on Sat 20 April 2019.

Wide Awake‘ will be available worldwide, across all digital download and streaming services. It’s accompanied by a full promo video.

Following the addition of vocal powerhouse, Dan Byrne, the band were revitalised and re-imagined, bringing a whole new attitude and drive that warranted a new name and fresh identity. Previously known as Black Cat Bones, Wide Awake is just the second single to be released under their new name of Revival Black.

Guitarist, (Alan) Rimmer, explains, “Having Dan join us has just taken us to another level. I mean, just listen to his vocals on Wide Awake and you will hear why we wanted him to join us. It’s insane. One night we were road-testing the song and Dan got caught up in the moment and just let loose on the lead vocal melody several octaves higher than written, creating what is now the standout vocal from the album.”

He went on, “We toyed with pace of this song as it has a real country rock vibe to it. The riff you hear in the chorus was intended to be the main song riff but we worked with it and found that the stabbing rhythm worked better across the verses and the pedalling guitar melody should underpin the chorus.

“Tying that all together was a joy, just two or three live run-throughs in the studio for the musical backing and then we let Dan do his thing. It’s one helluva rock anthem, a real fists-pumping-in-the-air moment. It’s our STATEMENT song that says who we are.”
