Anti-Clone artwork

One of the UK’s best breaking bands is preparing to make their mark in 2016 with the release of their highly anticipated debut album.

Notoriously named as ‘murder capital of Britain’, the sleepy town of Boston, Lincolnshire is home to apocalyptic nu-metal mob Anti-Clone.

Since bursting onto the scene in 2013, the five piece have wasted no time in grabbing audiences by the scruff of their necks and laying waste to stages across the UK and Europe. Now they’re ready to step up to the plate and deliver their stunning debut album ‘The Root Of Man‘, released via a hugely successful Pledge Music campaign and Plastic Head Distribution.

Frontman Mr Clone explains about the meaning behind the album “‘The Root of Man’ is intended to hold a dual meaning. Firstly, it questions the beginning of the human race, starting with Eve committing original sin which resulted in us being cast out of Eden. This is echoed in the title track with the lyrics: “The root of man is evil; the root of man is sin”. This theme is explored further throughout the album, looking at the extremes of human emotion and actions. The second meaning is that ‘The Root Of Man’ symbolises our beginning as a band. These are the roots that we are planting to fully establish ourselves as our own entity, to establish ourselves as Anti-Clone.”

Working with Matt Hyde (Slipknot ‘All Hope Is Gone’ – Machine Head ‘The Blackening’) at Perry Vale Studios in London the acclaimed producer was on hand to take the raw energy of Anti-Clone and help shape their future. Clone picks up the story “Matt is a creative powerhouse, working with him is a great experience. He has a fantastic knack of being able to pick out that harmony line or to suggest little tweaks to a song that just make it explode into life. It was great to team up with him again for ‘The Root of Man’ after the fantastic job he did of ‘Hands Sewn Together’ (the band’s first EP) as well as with Carl Johnston who was a brilliant asset to the process too. It’s great to be able to work with a producer who has worked with bands who have helped shape our own musical tastes.”

“The step up in musicianship and song writing is immense” says Hyde “and as a producer you can’t ask for anymore than the band to be willing and open to trying new ideas. Anti-Clone pushes themselves and it’s no surprise that they have gained a lot of fans along the way. There is no doubt in my mind that 2016 is going to be a big year for them.” (Matt Hyde)

And the album’s producer is not the only one to see the potential in Anti-Clone. Skindred frontman Benji Webbe praises the band for their live shows “Anti-Clone have the full package! After having them support Skindred for 2 weeks, I saw them deliver an amazing performance night after night. I believe with the right direction they could be a ruling force in British metal!”

With their new music in safe hands, Anti-Clone new they wanted something special for the album artwork —> Enter mysterious artist Mister Sam (Rob Zombie, Fear Factory) – “Mister Sam has also been massively influential in helping us define the aesthetic that we were aiming to achieve for the album. His touch can be seen in the new logo, album artwork, as well as in some other things that we’re yet to release yet. It’s been fantastic to add his catalogue of expertise to this whole process.” (Mr Clone).

With tour dates to be announced and new music videos in production –  2016 is set to be Anti-Clone’s biggest year to date.
The debut album ‘The Root Of Man’ is released 29th April 2016 via PHD (Plastic Head Distribution).

Dan Reed, formerly of ‘Dan Reed Network’, (DRN) will soon be releasing his third solo album entitled ‘Transmission’. It will be released in Europe (excluding the UK) on March 27th, 2015. This collection of songs was composed and recorded in Prague and takes on a more live feel and energy than his previous two studio releases ‘Signal Fire’ and ‘Coming Up for Air’. Reed has always had a passion for groups like ‘Bad Company’, ‘Pink Floyd’, and ‘Fleetwood Mac’ and ‘Transmission’ takes it’s aim at realising this type of in your face, honest rock production. Besides tackling all the vocals, Dan performed all the guitar and keyboard work, performing live in the studio beside famed drummer Robert Ikiz from Turkey and bassist Bengan Jonasson from Sweden.

This collection of songs primarily takes a look at the dark side of the human condition and tries to make sense of trying to find light in the midst of the chaos. This will be Dan’s second album financed through Pledge Music through those who support his music and reached 100 percent of it’s goal in less than 2 weeks from launching the campaign.

Dan Reed

Reed’s second solo CD, ‘Signal Fire’ released in early 2013, was a collection of thought provoking tracks, co-produced by Reed and Rob Daiker (Meredith Brooks/Katy Perry/Fame Riot). Signal Fire represented a step toward a more edgier sound than his 2010 solo effort ‘Coming Up for Air’, yet still held on to the intention of finding hope in a world riddled with great hypocrisy and great hope.

While ‘Coming Up for Air’ was composed in Jerusalem and Northern India during 2007/2008 and represented Reed’s quest for insight on religious conflicts and making peace with inner demons, ‘Signal Fire’ took a more pointed look at the world’s political/social/environmental conflicts. With ‘Transmission’ Dan decided to leave political statements somewhat behind and focus more on the conflict within the human heart and soul.

Dan also released a solo acoustic album entitled ‘In Between the Noise’ in 2014, as well as a DRN compilation 2 disc set called ‘Anthology’ which covered both previously released DRN songs, along with 4 new live tracks from the Network’s recent reunion shows and unreleased B-Sides. ‘Anthology was also funded through Pledge Music and their fans.

Dan Reed Network was signed to Polygram in 1988 by Derek Shulman, famed A+R man who signed ‘Bon Jovi’. Managed by Bill Graham and Q-Prime later, DRN played opening act on European tours for Bon Jovi, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie and Midnight Oil, and performed in America with Run DMC and toured with UB40. Selling nearly 2 million albums worldwide, DRN was part of the funk rock movement and released three albums with Polygram between 1989 and 1992. ‘Transmission’ stands as a good example of where Dan can take the groove in these times, both musically and lyrically.

Reed took a long hiatus from the music business in early 2003 and spent 4 years in Northern India and Jerusalem, living in a Tibetan Monastery and studying religions while in the Middle East. Coming back to music in 2009 he now performs extensively throughout Europe and the United States, both with his solo band and DRN and has in recent years performed at the ‘Sweden Rock Festival’ and England’s ‘Download Festival’ twice.

With ‘Transmission’ Dan hopes that getting back to the roots of live performance is a positive direction in a world addicted to canned music, drum machines and auto-tuned vocals.

“I just felt it was time to get back to something that feels real, organic, and in tune with the human condition.” – Reed

Bernie TormŽ

Help a Guitar Legend Create his First Solo Album for 15 Years!

Own the 1964 Fender Stratocaster That Ozzy Gave Bernie for £66,600!

Irish guitarist Bernie Tormé is literally a living legend, having played for Ozzy Osbourne and Ian Gillan amongst others.  The next step of his saga is a new Pledge Music campaign offering a multitude of awesomeness, aimed at keeping connected with fans whist enabling him to record his first solo album for 15 years – plus raising money for charity along the way.

It has been said of Irish guitarist Bernie Tormé that he plays his Stratocaster through a Marshall as though he knew them in a previous life.  However, it’s this life that Bernie loves, and he is more excited than ever to announce he is writing this new album – and he asks if you want to be a part of getting it recorded and released without record labels: Direct from him, to you.

And what a life.  Bernie’s career includes axing for Ozzy Osbourne, after stepping in & saving the day in the aftermath of another legends tragic death –  the one and only Randy Rhoad’s.  He was an integral part of ex-Deep Purple frontman Ian Gillan’s massive world-touring band Gillan – with whom he wrote and played on four top ten albums and many hits, including the biggest selling singles, ‘New Orleans’ and ‘Trouble’.  He formed Desperado with Twisted Sister front man Dee Snider, which also featured ex-Iron Maiden drummer, the great late Clive Burr.  He played alongside celebrated keyboard player Vincent Crane (ex-The Crazy World of Arthur Brown) as a member of psychedelic doom rockers Atomic Rooster.  He has constantly performed with his own bands as well, including Electric Gypsies and Torme, bands that have rocked and released hit records all over the world.

That said, now is the time for something new.  It’s time to cut out the middle-men, say goodbye to red-tape and labels – and just deliver, one song after another, on a new record planned for release after completion of the pledge campaign in 3 months time.  With 10% of all money raised going to Teenage Cancer Trust, there are some truly unique things on offer, including guitar lessons with the man himself; his original stage jacket seen in the album cover to Gillan’s ‘Mr Universe’; personal acoustic gigs in your home; the chance to perform onstage during an encore at a show – and, best of all, the original lake placid blue 1964 Fender Stratocaster given to Bernie by the one and only Ozzy Osbourne is up for grabs at the more-metal-than-metal price of £66,600.  Bernie would like to invite you along for the ride:

“I hope you become part of this album and pledge, and if so I thank you for your generosity and for your continued support over so many years – and thank you from my heart for enabling me to do the thing I love most, to make music for you”.

Scottish rockers States Of Panic can finally reveal details of their much anticipated album ‘No World Order’.

Vocalist, Johnny Gunn, states: “The album has been a few years in the making and it has been a real creative roller-coaster.  As an album it perfectly reflects who we are as people and as a band. We’ve been very vocal about our dissatisfaction with the political systems in place since the release of our first single ‘One Of Us’ and our material has never been more relevant. We live in a time when so many feel disenfranchised, the division between rich and poor is wider than ever, and global underclass is rising.”

‘No World Order’ is set for release on 3rd March 2014, but fans don’t have to wait until the new year to get involved, as States Of Panic have launched a Pledge Music campaign so fans can be part of the release. Anyone who pledges will be given access to exclusive demos, remixes, videos from the studio and more; Johnny explains all in the below video –

The campaign also supports the production of a music video to accompany the second single from the album ‘Gun To My Head’, which will be released in December.

Johnny explains: “It’s very much in-keeping with our album artwork and portrays a kind of ‘Brave New World’ type future where everything is technological and clinical. Lyrically the song is about consciousness and being psychologically split i.e., the ego, super ego, id, the Umwelt, Mid Welt, EigenWlt etc. I’ve always been fascinated by psychology and the philosophical concept of ‘The ghost in the machine’. The female character represents this ghost, symbolising the voice we hear, the internal dialogue we all posses but in this case it has malfunctioned and she becomes destructive.”
