Wisconsin-bred guitarist Jared James Nichols embarks on his first major UK tour in February 2020. The 8-date tour starts on Tuesday February 25th at the Robin 2 in Bilston and ends at The Exchange in Bristol on Sunday March 29th. Tickets are available from SeeTickets.com.

I’m looking forward to playing the UK again,” says Jared. “The last time we toured the UK, we supported Living Colour and Wayward Sons. This time we will be headlining our own shows so it’s going to be a special tour for us. We’ve been gradually building up a lot of momentum over the years, so the time feels right for a headline tour now.

The tour follows Jared’s recent single ‘Nails in the Coffin‘ that was a popular A-listed radio hit on Planet Rock Radio. Recorded in Los Angeles, the single was produced and co-written by Mark Jackson and Ian Scott; best known for being the team behind the artist Dorothy and the hit single ‘The River‘ by Bishop Briggs. “Nails in the Coffin has many different meanings,” says Jared. “It’s about overcoming the odds, always pushing forward. Never backing down or giving up to anything or anyone.

2019  was a ground-breaking year for Jared as Gibson/Epiphone released his Signature Model Les Paul Custom Guitar along with the release of the Blackstar Amps JJN-20R MKII. Read an interview with Jared about his Signature Epiphone at https://bit.ly/2XFNN6h. Both models received rave reviews.

Hailed as one of the most exciting new blues rock guitarists around, Jared is no stranger to UK audiences. In 2015 he embarked on a European tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd, followed by an extensive UK tour supporting the legendary Glenn Hughes, where he won over critics with across-the-board rave reviews. He also toured with Stone Broken and opened the Planet Rock Main Stage at Ramblin’ Man Fair 2017.

All tracks on the new album were recorded at The Boneyard in Boston as well as Johnny Depp’s home studio in Los Angeles and produced and co-written by Tony Perry and Jared James Nichols. Over the past four years Jared has built up a solid  reputation as a stunning heavy edged blues rock act and stage beast, having shared stages with the likes of ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Zaak Wylde, Glenn Hughes, Walter Trout, Blue Oyster Cult, UFO and Saxon.

The Bad Flowers formed from the depths of the Black Country in 2014 comprised of lead vocalist and guitarist, Tom Leighton, whose signature riffs, fuzz emotive guitar and pure vocals have distinctive sound unlike anybody else. Bassist Dale Tonks provides a deep heavy groove and tasty bass runs that underpins Karl Selickis’ chest pumping drums and impeccable rhythmic feel. All those tours were executed within a short period of time in support of his highly acclaimed debut album ‘Old Glory & The Wild Revival‘. Jared has quickly reached international status and has continued to deliver crashing propulsive blues tones with soulfully insane guitar solos.  It’s raw, raucous, and righteously real.

Last Chance is easily the hardest-hitting song I’ve ever wrote,” says Jared. “I completely let it all hang out and went wild. Even the guitar solo is off the wall, blazing fast, and absolutely crazy. I needed to set the bar high for the new record and come out with a bang.

Jared James Nichols will release the Highwayman EP via Listenable Records/ Swing House on CD and digital download in mid-September. The EP dovetails Jared’s special guest appearance on Glenn Hughes UK tour which starts October 17th at Southampton, Engine Rooms.

The EP features the lead single ‘We’re An American Band’, a scorching cover of Grand Funk Railroad’s 1973 single, a cover of Humble Pie’s “30 Days In The Hole”, and three new Jared James Nichols originals – ‘Old Glory’, ‘Fallin’ Down’ and ‘Gone’.   The EP is engineered, mixed and produced by Anthony Joseph Perry (son of Aerosmith’s Joe Perry), and was recorded at Swing House Studios in Los Angeles, with additional songs recorded in France at Indie Ear Studio by Mathieu Kabi.

The Highwayman EP is inspired by life on the road during a 70+ run of dates in Europe and UK earlier this year. Jared and his band wanted to release a few covers inspired by the tour along with some spontaneous original rockers to let his new fans understand where some of his influences come from as a contemporary American guitarist raised on classic rock from both sides of the Atlantic.  Jared will be special guest on Glenn Hughes’ UK tour which kicks off at in Southampton at the Engine Rooms on October 17th.
