Rising UK rockers Revenant are ecstatic to announce their highly anticipated debut album ‘New Horizon Calling’ slated for release March 5th 2027 on CD, digital download direct from the band and limited edition vinyl. The release is dovetailed by their first UK headline tour taking in some of the finest club venues in the land.
Revealing a thematic arc of the much sought after release the four piece of Sugarman Sam (vocals/guitars), Matt Hudson (guitars), Robin Nutley (bass), Carl Donoghue (drums); “This album, as always, follows our ethos of writing songs about our experiences and what we know. We’ve got a bit of social commentary going on here alongside songs about lovers, egos and having a good time with your friends.”
“We’ve gone for even bigger choruses and, occasionally, even heavier riffage but all written with melodicism and intent. We’ve definitely experimented with this album and constantly tried to push our own boundaries and make sure we deliver on what we are fast becoming known for, whether that’s in the instrumentation, the vocal arrangements or the lyrical content.”
Looking to up the ante for the 10 track collection, they brought in the world class talent of producer John Mitchell (Enter Shikari, Architects, Steven Wilson) and recorded at his state-of-the-art Outhouse Studios in Berkshire “We deliberately chose to work with a producer who would push us and make us work hard for this collection of songs. John has definitely done that – he contributed a guitar solo on ‘Damn We Had A Good Day‘ which is just stunning, as well as some backing vocals and we are grateful to have been able to work with someone of his calibre.”
Never ones to disappoint, the band are bringing their message to the masses, affectionately called ‘The Revenant Ones’. “This record is all the more sweeter as it has been funded by our fans via Kickstarter. We felt the weight of delivering a magnificent record for them and we think we’ve done them proud – we can’t thank our fans enough for being with us on this ride.”
Formed in 2023 Revenant brings a huge contemporary rock sound, their debut EP ‘What A Time To Be Alive’ was released to critical acclaim in 2024. The band soon hit the ground running, immediately pricked ears and attracted strong streaming numbers. Pushing on in 2025, the duo EP release of ‘Best Medicine’ (review here) and ‘Black Dogs and Sad Men’ (review here) garnered rave reviews and gained them new fans alike; “Southern dirt, pensive twists and bright 70s flair” featuring in Classic Rock Magazine Tracks Of The Week. These releases have grown further through strong streaming and YouTube numbers enabling them to reach a wider audience with their high octane yet reflective writing which connects deeply with the listener.
The band are making waves on the live circuit having wowed at shows and festivals alike including their first UK tour with legendary US southern rock royalty Preacher Stone and at Maid of Stone, Firevolt and NWOCR Live Fest. Their incendiary performance is reflected in their live album release ‘What A Time To Be Live’ with Powerplay Magazine enthusing “Most refreshing and exciting sounds around”. With such accolades, the southern UK based rockers might just become your favourite new band.
This is real life with stories of hope, love and life, the good, the bad and the ugly and will be playing select shows in the remainder of 2026 including festival appearances at Planet Rockstock and WinterStorm tenth anniversary in Scotland. On the excitement to come next year, Revenant collectively enthuses “It’s our first headline tour, the ultimate goal for a band like us. We cannot wait to bring these songs out on the road to you and visit some of our favourite places with a show that is brand new and even more exciting as ever.
