Live Review: Kris Barras Band + 10 Years

Rescue Rooms, October 8th, 2026

Reviewer / Photographer – Dan Mann

Dubbed the ‘One Last Time Tour‘, this was always going to be a mixture of enjoyment, tinged with some sadness as Kris has steps back from music for the forseeable future. I’ve seen and photographed Kris and his band of merry men on numerous occasions, always enjoying the gig. Disappointed, yes, but totally I understand why he’s made the decision.

The support for the evening were American alt rockers 10 Years. Not a band I’d heard of before if I’m totally honest, alt rock isn’t my thing, but apparently they’re rather popular with a solid fanbase. The fact that the Rescue Rooms was packed from the off just reinforced that.

As I said, it’s not a style I’m into, but I can still appreciate the songwriting and live delivery, their performance was top notch!

Setlist:

  1. Novacaine
  2. Now Is the Time (Ravenous)
  3. Waking Up
  4. Through the Iris
  5. Beautiful
  6. Gravity
  7. Heart-Shaped Box (Nirvana cover)
  8. Half Life
  9. Russian Roulette
  10. Cast It Out
  11. Fix Me
  12. Wasteland
  13. The Optimist

And so to the main course. There’s just something about Kris Barras & Co’s live performances, the energy, the songs (of course) and a feeling of inclusion. There will certainly be a large hole left in the live music scene at the end of this tour!

The night’s performance ticked every box, with the unsuprisingly packed Rescue Rooms singing along to every song, determind to savour every minute of the night. With Josiah having to miss the tour due to the very important matter of becoming a father, Danny Dela Cruz took over duties on the right hand side of the stage. The engine room of the band, bassist Frazer Kerslake, and drummer Billy Hammett, laid down that familiar low reinforcement to Kris‘ guitar.

All that’s left for me to say is good luck Kris for your future, and hopefully the stars will aline again at some point in the future for what would be a very welcome return.
