Scottish rock band Kelowna are set to release their debut album, ‘Superstar‘, on Friday 28th August. The band have also just unveiled their latest single and video, ‘Wild and Free‘, offering another taste of a record that is built for loud stages and bigger audiences.

Formed in Scotland in early 2024, Kelowna wasted little time making an impression. Bringing together a shared love of classic rock with a modern edge, the five-piece introduced themselves with a debut EP that quickly gained attention and paved the way for a packed run of live shows.
That momentum has continued throughout 2025 with appearances at Heartland Festival, Winterstorm and Bonfest, where the band’s energetic performances have earned them an ever-growing following. At the heart of Kelowna is vocalist Davy Wilson, whose ideas provide the spark before the songs are developed into full-band arrangements, giving every member a hand in shaping the finished sound. Drummer Rory McEwan says: “Most of the songs start with one of Davy‘s ideas, whether that’s a melody, a lyric or a story. Once we’re all in the room, everyone brings something different to it. We grew up listening to a lot of the same bands, but we all approach the songs differently, and that’s what makes them ours.”
Recorded to capture the drive and character that has become the band’s trademark on stage, ‘Superstar‘ is a confident debut that wears its influences proudly while carving out its own identity. From anthemic hooks to hard-hitting riffs, the album reflects a band that has found its stride and is ready to take the next step. With ‘Wild and Free‘ leading the charge, Kelowna look set to make ‘Superstar‘ a debut that demands attention.
