The 2026 diary is filling up fast for melodic classic rockers White Skies.
Following the success of their acclaimed 2022 debut album ‘Black Tide‘, White Skies are preparing to launch their eagerly anticipated sophomore release, ‘Shouting at the Hurricane‘ (review here), which arrives in stores on July 3rd.
Released through the award-winning UK label Conquest Music, ‘Shouting at the Hurricane‘ will be available on digipak CD and a special limited-edition blue vinyl format.
Featuring former members of Samson, Ya Ya, Dante Fox, Blood Red Saints and Red, White & Blues, White Skies are seasoned performers who have quickly established a reputation as a formidable live act, combining a commanding stage presence with polished, melodic rock songs.
To celebrate the album’s release, the band will embark on their first ever acoustic record store tour, performing intimate sets at independent record stores across England.
Vocalist Mick White says “We are absolutely buzzing to be heading out on the first White Skies instore tour this July. 2026 has been an amazing year so far with the release of our ‘Shouting at the Hurricane‘ album, and it’s the icing on the cake to finally see the record released on vinyl.
“We’ve put together some fantastic acoustic versions of songs from both albums and we can’t wait to get up close and personal with our brilliant fans over the course of these instore dates.”

‘Shouting at the Hurricane‘ includes the good-time glam-rock stomper ‘88 Crash’, featuring tongue-in-cheek lyrics inspired by the hedonistic rock scene of the late 1980s.
Planet Rock Radio loved the track so much that it remained on the station’s daytime playlist for nearly two months. White Skies have also been added to the bill for Planet Rockstock Festival at Trecco Bay on November 28th.
Reviews of the album has been equally enthusiastic.
“All the songs are well-crafted gems. If you like melodic rock, you will love this. A superb effort.” Said Fireworks Magazine. Musipedia Of Metal awarded the album a perfect 10/10, describing it as:
“A strong, well-crafted and refreshing record for a band who are rapidly becoming a firm favourite.” Whilst our own Chris O’Connor stated “‘Shouting At The Hurricane‘ represents a significant leap forward for White Skies and firmly establishes them as one of the most exciting melodic rock acts currently operating in the UK”
Keeping themselves gig-fit ahead of a full UK tour later in the year, White Skies will also make guest appearances at several major shows and festivals:
27th June – Tower of Fire Festival (Nightrain, Bradford)
17th October – KK’s Steel Mill with Inglorious
28th November – Planet Rockstock Festival (Trecco Bay)
Shouting at the Hurricane?
Those pesky BWitched girls once told us to Blame It on the Weatherman*. But it would take a brave meteorologist to forecast anything other than blue sky and an even brighter future for White Skies.
