Sunjay Releases New Single ‘I’ll Never Fall In Love Again’ Ahead Of UK Headline Tour

Award-winning British blues and roots artist Sunjay has released his new single ‘I’ll Never Fall In Love Again‘, written by George Borowski, ahead of his upcoming UK headline tour.

I’ll Never Fall In Love Again‘ is out now on all digital platforms – here

The track is taken from Sunjay’s tenth studio album, ‘Split The Sheets‘, a record that explores the many shades of love, heartbreak, and human connection.

When I started putting ‘Split The Sheets‘ together, I realised pretty quickly that although it had become a “love-themed” album, not all of it was exactly hearts and flowers. This one definitely sits in the shade category” says Sunjay.

Reflecting on the song’s unique energy, Sunjay explains:
I loved the contradiction in the song straight away. The lyrics are basically saying ‘that’s it, never again’, while the music sounds completely carefree and upbeat, like it’s ignored the heartbreak entirely. We really leaned into that tension.

Sunjay adds:
I liked the idea of taking a title like ‘I’ll Never Fall In Love Again’ and then making the track sound completely out of control. There’s something funny about that contradiction to me. The whole thing’s got a slightly unhinged energy to it, which felt far more believable than pretending heartbreak always arrives quietly with an acoustic guitar. The track features screeching harmonica, slide guitar flying about, a double Hammond solo, the whole thing feels slightly on the edge of running away with itself, which suited the song perfectly.

The release follows Sunjay’s recent session on BBC Radio 2’s The Blues Show with Cerys Matthews, and a live interview with David Freeman on Jazz FM, further highlighting his growing cross-genre appeal. Blending blues, roots and country influences with effortless authenticity, Sunjay continues to carve out a distinctive sound entirely his own.

With the headline tour beginning on May 17th , audiences across the country will get the chance to hear material from ‘Split The Sheets‘ performed live for the first time.

Speaking about the tour, Sunjay says:
One of the best parts of making a record is finally getting to take the songs out on the road and seeing what connects with people. Some of these tracks are big and full-on, some are much more stripped back, so it should make for some interesting evenings.
