Ross Harding Announces ‘Blues Shadows’ EP Release

South African guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Ross Harding announces ‘Blues Shadows‘, a three-part release exploring the darker edges of the blues through his distinctive style of Dark Blues — cinematic yet raw, minimal and atmospheric.

Released as a sequence of singles, the project unfolds across:

John The Revelator‘ — May 1st

Graveyard Blues‘ — June 5th

If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day‘ — July 10th

Built around voice, dark and weighty acoustic guitar and slide, ‘Blues Shadows‘ strips the music back to its essence while drawing on themes of the prophetic, artistic sacrifice, power, faith, desire and consequence. The performances are intimate and unvarnished, capturing a sense of tension and immediacy that runs through each track.

Entirely self-produced, the record carries a depth and weight in its acoustic guitar sound that sets it apart — a modern, heavy approach to a traditionally stripped format, where tone, space and performance drive the production.

From the stark, prophetic tone of ‘John The Revelator‘, to the personal weight of ‘Graveyard Blues‘, and the darker, more confrontational edge of ‘If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day‘, the release moves between confession, warning and internal struggle.

Blues Shadows‘ marks a defining moment in Harding’s Dark Blues Revival — a modern take on the genre rooted in tradition but driven by mood, space and emotional weight.

Featured in Blues in Britain, Blues Rock Review and more, Ross Harding continues to build a growing audience across the UK with his distinctive sound and live performances.

Biography:

Ross Harding is an acclaimed Blues Rock Musician from Johannesburg, South Africa, currently based in the UK.

As a songwriter and performing artist, he personifies rich, powerful vocal abilities with mesmerizing guitar skills, gaining international industry recognition for his commanding blend of blues and rock music, reminiscent of the classic rock, grunge & blues artists of the past.

A prolific performing artist, his versatile stage performances range from a deeply soulful solo acoustic artist to a high energy blues rocker, whose experience is that of an artist much older than he. A seasoned touring musician, he has played hundreds of shows in clubs, festivals, and notable venues in his decade-long professional career. Ross Harding continues to push boundaries in his redefining approach to the blues rock genre.

…a remarkable dark and moving depth…an experience that starts with his cracked, soulful and incredibly emotive voice which has a surprising turn of range to it…With a crisp and clear production, the subtleties of guitar and vocals are beautifully balanced…sometimes you just need to go back to your musical roots, and it’s rather fantastic that it’s taken a gentleman half my age to remind me of that fact.” –  Simon Black (United Kingdom)
