‘Altar of Your Love‘ tells the story of two people who face their demons together and can only find salvation through desire, trust and surrender. Both become the offering to confront the dark sides of their own selves. The deep, haunting voice of singer Patrik Nuorteva lends the song a dark, gothic aesthetic that blows through the cathedral nave like an icy gust of wind. Only the delicate strings and piano tones create a warm candlelight between the cold pillars of crushing drums and low-tuned guitars.
Just this past Autumn, ATLAS impressed audiences as an energetic and atmospheric opening act on Orbit Culture’s European tour, followed by appearances on Amorphis‘ Finland tour in December 2025. International press praised them as a raw force that quickly captivates audiences with their intensity. Epic choruses combined with an impressive light show that rendered the band members as dark silhouettes, created the feeling of being part of a hidden, mysterious ritual. It comes as no surprise that Orbit Culture will be taking the five Finns with them to North America on their next major tour in spring 2026.
Love conquers death – the new album ‘Sunder‘ distils the central credo of ATLAS into a modern metal work filled with haunting atmosphere and crushing rhythm. Known as messengers of melancholy, ATLAS forge a unique Nordic strain of modern metal where raw emotion meets cinematic scale. The Finns blend ancient echoes and Northern mysticism with a contemporary edge, shaped by monumental and emotive production. Mixed and mastered by Buster Odeholm (Silent Planet, Vildhjarta, Born of Osiris, Thrown), the album builds a sonic bridge between worlds old and new.
The album ‘Sunder‘ will be released on 20th February 2026, as ice-blue transparent vinyl and as digipak CD, and can already be pre-ordered alongside new merchandise in the band’s webshop.
