Adam Norsworthy, one of the most respected musicians on the UK’s grassroots music scene, and founder of the annual Milkfest charity concert at the O2, has written a book called ‘Stage By Stage: A Life in Twelve Gigs‘.
Stage By Stage goes through twelve gigs Adam has played or been to that then shaped the next stage of his life as both a musician and a man. From his first disastrous live performance in the USA aged nine, to his successful charity fundraising celebration of British Blues at the O2 in 2025.
“A highly entertaining, illuminating and heartfelt account of the ups, downs and ups again of a rock and roll obsessive, by the leader of one of Britain’s finest blues bands.’‘ Mick Brown, Author of Tearing Down the Wall of Sound: The Rise and Fall of Phil Spector
“Adam has crossed the bridge between writing songs and writing a book delightfully in Stage By Stage.” Jon Astley, Legendary Record Producer
“A fascinating book that kept me captivated. The way Adam expresses events you feel as if you are right there, you can almost taste it! I loved it, highly recommended.” Alan Mair, founding member of The Only Ones
Adam is best known as a founding member of The Milk Men, one of the UK’s leading blues rock bands, who have had number 1 singles and albums, countless award nominations and are the founders and hosts of Milkfest which last year raised thousands of pounds for the Brain Tumour Charity. This year’s event is for Dementia UK.
With four decades of experience and twenty albums to his name, Adam’s journey in Stage By Stage is a funny, frank, poignant and moving love letter to live music and the passionate people who ensure the show must go on!
‘Stage By Stage: A Life in Twelve Gigs‘ is published by Amazon KDP Publishing – out now on paperback and on Kindle next week – here
