Welsh singer-songwriter Laura Evans returns this autumn with ‘Out of the Dark‘, her long-awaited second studio album, releasing October 17, 2025. Honest, soulful, and sonically bold, the album marks a powerful new chapter for an artist steadily carving out a unique space in modern music after huge support from BBC Radio 2.
Known for her rich vocals and emotionally grounded songwriting, Laura brings together lush pop melodies, bluesy undertones, and heartfelt lyrics on this 12-track collection, a body of work that feels both timeless and current.
Produced and co-written with Ian Barter (Paloma Faith, Amy Winehouse, Dermot Kennedy), ‘Out of the Dark‘ is a confident step forward that captures Laura’s evolution as both an artist and a storyteller.
“I poured my heart and soul into this album,” Laura shares. “there are big pop chorus’ introspective ballads, a southern rock edge and even a dreamy interlude, It’s a little bit of everything I love, tied together with honesty. I worked with some amazing co-writers on this album who really pushed me both with my writing and vocals and I feel these are some of my best songs to date”
The album includes three standout singles that have already resonated with listeners and critics alike. The uplifting ‘What I’m Made Of‘ earned a spot on the BBC Radio 2 daytime playlist, while the beautiful melodic pop rock ‘Wherever You Are‘ received Radio 2 airplay and was featured on several editorial playlists across Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer. Most recently, Laura released ‘Honest‘, a bittersweet break-up anthem with a bright pop edge, praised for its soaring chorus and raw vulnerability.
Following her breakout debut ‘State of Mind‘, which amassed over 2.5 million streams and praise from BBC Radio 2’s Cerys Matthews (“a real firecracker”), ‘Out of the Dark‘ is positive to cement Laura’s reputation as one of the UK’s most compelling emerging voices.
