Lead singer, Clarke Vaughan spoke about ‘Walk On Water‘, “The song portrays an irresistible, seductive, almost supernatural force – a metaphor for addiction, temptation, or a toxic influence.
That allure is promising power and transformation, offering to take you to the ‘mountain top’ and let you ‘walk on water’. These highs and appeal naturally bring a dark reality, brought to light in the second verse, warning that while the first taste is kind, repeated indulgence leads to losing one’s soul, resulting in isolation and control.
The song’s breakdown reveals the inevitable crash, leaving you broken and lost. The song ultimately captures the cycle of temptation — from euphoric highs to devastating lows.”
