Farnham-based skate rockers Kit Trigg have released their new single ‘Snake in The Grass’ in celebration of their upcoming tour dates with “rockgrass” legends Hayseed Dixie.
Mixed by Pete Hutchings (Royal Blood, Skindred, The Amazons) the track oozes with an unlikely-yet-effective combination of monster riffs and justified angst, effortlessly balanced by smooth harmonies, inspired wisdom and subtle humour – showcasing everything that Kit Trigg do best.
Speaking of the track, Kit says:
“I wrote this tune on a 10 minute drive to the shops in my VW camper. I had these pent up feelings that just burst out of me and I remember thinking, “No way, that’s how I felt? Cool!” And the lyrics have this kind of satirical colour but there’s some really subtle wisdom in some of the lines. Kind of in the same way Eastern philosophies encode deep truths intertwined in light-hearted fables about animals. And then made all the better with a fat riff I wrote as a teenager and forgot about, plus the three part Eagles style harmony, damn… It’s by far our most “out there” track!”
The video was filmed by the band themselves and put together by cinematic legend Andy Morahan (Wham!, Guns n Roses, AC/DC, Elton John).
Having spent much of 2024 on tour supporting the likes of Massive Wagons, These Wicked Rivers and Marisa and The Moths, Kit Trigg kick off their 2025 schedule with 19 shows across the UK with road veterans Hayseed Dixie and a cheeky visit to Wales to appear at Planet Rock’s Winters End festival. It’s shaping up to be a busy year for the band with additional appearances so far confirmed at Breaking Bands, Steelhouse, Firevolt, Nozfest and Rockin’ the Peaks.
‘Snake in the Grass’ is available via all streaming platforms and also on limited edition CD at shows and online at www.kittriggsucks.com. It’s the trio’s first musical offering since 2023’s critically acclaimed EP ‘Goin’ for Glory’ which scored the band Planet Rock airplay along with multiple Classic Rock ‘Track of the Week’ nominations . Showcasing a real depth and diversity, Kit’s music is thematically rooted in optimism but with an edge that cuts through to the real world.
