Molly Karloff Releases New Single ‘Cult of Personality’

After making waves with their critically acclaimed album ‘Breaking Out‘, Oxfordshire’s hard rock powerhouse Molly Karloff returns with their latest single, ‘Cult of Personality‘, hitting all major streaming platforms on Friday, 8th November 2024. Already featured on physical copies of Breaking Out (released 6th October 2023), this marks the track’s highly anticipated digital debut as the band’s fifth single release. Fans can stream the song on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon Music, and other platforms.

Molly Karloff is not just another rock band—they’re a relentless force reshaping the modern rock landscape with electrifying riffs, dynamic performances, and deeply resonant lyrics. With Simon Gee on vocals and guitar, Nico Martin on bass, and Jowie Adkins on drums, the trio is determined to take rock to the next level. The journey started with their debut EP, but the story is far from over—this is only the beginning.

Cult of Personality‘ brings Molly Karloff’s signature energy, featuring infectious riffs and a dark, gritty sound to address the unchecked power and hypocrisy in modern politics. Frontman Simon Gee’s pointed lyrics expose the dangers of celebrity-driven politics, where charisma overshadows policy and accountability fades. Inspired by grunge and metal greats like Soundgarden and Alice in Chains, the song is a call to action, urging listeners to rock out while reflecting on today’s pressing issues.

This track is about how easily society falls for a figurehead, even when it’s clear they’re manipulating the truth. It’s about how the cult of personality in politics overshadows real policies, and we’re seeing the effects everywhere,” says Simon Gee. “The frustration I felt watching this unfold poured straight into this song.

The cover art, designed exclusively by Mila Djokic-Randolph, reflects the metaphorical mask that hides the true intentions of corrupt figures in power—a visual representation that captures the song’s biting critique.

Hailing from Oxfordshire, UK, Molly Karloff has quickly made their mark on the rock scene. The band’s debut EP ‘Supernaturalation‘ and their full-length album ‘Breaking Out‘ earned widespread critical acclaim, with standout tracks like ‘Higher Than The Sun‘ and ‘Black Flame‘. ‘Breaking Out‘ received glowing reviews from top rock publications, including a 9/10 rating from Powerplay Magazine, praising the album’s “gigantic choruses” and “pulverising perfection”. Molly Karloff has also been compared favourably to rock giants like Royal Blood, but with stronger song-writing and a relentless energy that sets them apart.

Their previous single, ‘She Said‘, skyrocketed to success, gaining over 350,000 video views on Facebook and securing significant radio play from Planet Rock, MMH Radio, and Hard Rock Hell Radio. Despite the pandemic, Molly Karloff continued to thrive, even teaming up with legendary producer Romesh Dodangoda (Motörhead, Bring Me the Horizon) to re-release ‘She Said‘ for the mental health charity, MIND.

Now, with Grammy-winning producer Mike Exeter (Black Sabbath, Judas Priest) behind the mixing board, ‘Cult of Personality‘ is set to continue the band’s streak of powerful, no-holds-barred rock anthems.

Following the release, Molly Karloff will perform ‘Cult of Personality‘ live at the Hard Rock Hell Festival in Great Yarmouth, UK, on Saturday, 9th November 2024. This performance is part of their ongoing tour, with more live dates planned throughout 2025.

As Molly Karloff continues to dominate the rock scene, fans can look forward to new music and performances in 2025. The band is currently booking shows across the UK, ensuring that their intense, electrifying performances reach new and returning fans alike. The band are now signed to TowerRok Band Management and are predicted to be at a venue near you soon on the back of their new material releases.
