Axminster is excited to announce the release of ‘Don’t Wind Me Up‘, the first single off the new 4-song EP titled ‘Bada Boom!‘. The EP skips over the details and gets right to the point. This Boston-bred band cranks out rock hard, in-your-face songs cut from the same 70’s vinyl grooves that slammed on the jukeboxes they fed loose change into as kids. Shaking the medallions of bands like Aerosmith, Montrose, Sweet, and Deep Purple, ‘Bada Boom!‘ punches out songs with a dagger-between-the-teeth, tongue-in-cheek backbone.
Axminster lit their fuse into the Boston music scene back in the early 80’s, getting consistent airplay on major over the air radio and raves from the press. The band had a voracious appetite for live gigs, and slugged its way around the region’s club scene, sharing sweat-filled stages with the likes of Metallica, Extreme, Twisted Sister, Lita Ford, Molly Hatchet, Ten Years After, Foghat and many others.
The EP was mixed by Grammy Award Winning Producer/Engineer Bob St. John who has worked with such artists as Extreme, Collective Soul, Duran Duran and Dokken to name a few. “Bada Boom” was mastered by Adam Matza at Magic Ears Mastering who has mastered tracks for Steven Tyler, Extreme, Dweezil Zappa, Mary J. Blige and others.
“‘Bada Boom!‘, is honest rock n’ roll, with a bit of swagger and lot of fun. It’s packed with a windows-down and volume-up allegiance to a time when rock n’ roll wasn’t perfect, sex was safe and motorcycles were dangerous“.
“‘Don’t Wind Me Up‘, is all about being tired of being sick and tired! Listening to meaningless jawing, complaining, antagonizing, gaslighting…sometimes you just want split some lip.”
