The album, ‘Feeling So Good‘, was recorded with Will Maya at Los Rosales Studio near Madrid. It features cover art created by renowned Marvel & DC Comics graphic artist, Jason Johnson https://www.facebook.com/JasonJohnsonartist/. The album is self-released and will be distributed by PHD.

Revolution‘ was written by Lawrence Case and Jon Dawson and is a typical Voodoo Vegas creation with a hugely memorable chorus and guitar riffs to die for.

Singer, Lawrence Case had this to say, “Producer Will Maya brought out the best in us with this song. Listen to those bass-chops from Ask Moulton during the verses and then we top that off with a pre-chorus and chorus that are bang on the money.”

Lawrence continued, “The whole world appears to be full of negative energy at present and it may need a revolution to get us back on track. From Brexit, to Trump, to Hong Kong, to environmental concerns and commercial whaling starting again. Hear it, it’s on the wind, there’s a revolution coming!”

South-coast hard rock quintet, Voodoo Vegas, release a new single, ‘Don’t Need Your Love‘ on Friday 24 May off the back of details for the third album, ‘Feeling So Good‘, out on Fri 01 November 2019.

‘Don’t Need Your Love‘ will be available worldwide from all digital streaming and download platforms and is the first song taken from third album, ‘Feeling So Good‘.

Singer, Lawrence Case, spoke of a difficult 12 months, “We were one of the many bands caught up in the whole Pledge Music collapse. We actually ran really successful campaigns for albums one and two, but we and our fans have been left high & dry this time. We are owed £000’s and it has certainly hit our plans with a sledge-hammer. “

Despite the setback the band, completed by Ash Moulton (bass), Meryl Hamilton (guitars), Jon Dawson (guitar) and the returning, Martin Ramsey (drums), have re-grouped and brought all of the promotion and marketing in-house.

Lawrence continued, “It has been a real learning curve, but we have signed a management deal with Peter Keevil at TMR and that has helped get us organised and re-focussed. We are now delighted to be releasing new music and announcing our third album.”

The album, ‘Feeling So Good‘, was recorded with Will Maya at Los Rosales Studio near Madrid. It features coverart created by renowned Marvel & DC Comics graphic artist, Jason Johnson https://www.facebook.com/JasonJohnsonartist/. The album is self-released and will be distributed by PHD.

The album, plus some exclusive merchandise and experiences can be explored here: http://store.voodoovegas.com

First single, Don’t Need Your Love, is the first writing collaboration between Lawrence Case and Mike Rigler. Mike’s fat riff, mixed with Lawrence’s aggressive vocal melodies on the verses, come together perfectly for a melodic and hook-laden chorus.

Lawrence wrote the lyrics about how despite many knock-backs, they have come out the other side – three albums in and realising that they needed the high of rock music to pull them through.

Lawrence concluded, “We are really proud of Feeling So Good and we think people will like it too. Don’t Need Your Love is the lead song and sets the tone for the album. We can’t wait to get people’s reaction to it.”

Voodoo Vegas release their new acoustic single and official video ‘Sleeping in the Rain’, to raise awareness, and help Crisis fight homelessness.

It’s been over fifty years since Bob Dylan stood in an alley, in shades, flipping signs to flash up the lyrics to ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’. Now, Voodoo Vegas take a new and meaningful spin on signing up lyrics in the street with their striking new video for ‘Sleeping in the Rain’. The video shows a young street homeless man, holding up a single sign, onto which the song’s powerful lyrics about what it feels like to be homeless are displayed, while people walk by, oblivious to his presence, words or plight.

It’s a poignant song, with a powerful message. Voodoo Vegas wrote it for their second album ‘Freak Show Candy Floss’ and have dedicated its release as a single to the charity Crisis, which campaigns on the issue of homelessness and directly helps those affected by it. All proceeds from ‘Sleeping in the Rain’ are going to Crisis, to support their vital work.

’Sleeping in the Rain’ is a very personal song for me,” explains frontman Lawrence Case, “Playing shows in different towns and cities around the UK, I’ve noticed that many of the streets are full of rough sleepers. I’ve read a lot of articles on homelessness and often will help out rough sleepers by buying them food and trying to help them get into a shelter for the night.

“I think it really sucks how in city centres around the UK hundreds of people can walk past a homeless man/woman and not offer to buy them a drink or a sandwich or even say hello. This is where the idea for the lyrics come from.

Lawrence discussed the song with comic artist Jason Johnson, who captured the view in his head for the distinctive look and artwork of the animated video, realised by Cloud Music Typography.

’Freak Show Candy Floss’ is the first music written entirely with the new Voodoo Vegas line up,” Lawrence adds, “Where some bands find it hard to write their second album, Voodoo Vegas had a ton of energy going into the writing of this album and it didn’t feel like writing our second album, it felt like this was our first.

It’s been an amazing year for Voodoo Vegas, who’ve not only released their album, but played festivals and toured in UK, France, Holland, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia, Estonia, Sweden, and Germany (playing to 30,000 people at the Rhineland Palatinate Parade). They’ve shared stages with the likes of Fozzy, Y&T, Status Quo, Uriah Heep, The Quireboys, Joe Satriani, and Phil Campbell.

What’s more, in 2017, Voodoo Vegas announce they will be going back out on the road with a 4 date Holland tour, with the legendary Y&T.

Killing Joke

A British export success story, hard rock band Voodoo Vegas has announced details of their second album.

Titled ‘Freak Show Candy Floss‘ (out 4th November via PHD), Voodoo Vegas‘ new release features ten modern rock tracks, oozing showmanship and demonstrating just how far the band has come since the release of 2013’s debut album ‘The Rise Of Jimmy Silver‘ and last year’s EP ‘Hypnotise‘.

“I believe we’ve matured as songwriters and musicians, and the new album reflect this”, states frontman Lawrence Case, “As much as we loved making the first album, last year’s EP was a hint of what was to come next, and we knew we had it in us to deliver the best album possible. And thanks to 2 years of touring around the UK and Europe, supporting some killer bands and learning so much from them and about ourselves as musicians and human beings, we’ve crafted ‘Freak Show Candy Floss‘ and we couldn’t be happier with the results.”

Bold claims maybe, but there’s no doubt this new album by Voodoo Vegas rocks hard, whilst maintaining its roots in real life, wax lyrical content on all songs, like the powerful swagger of ‘Backstabber‘, to the venomous, bluesy bite of ‘Poison‘, whilst the sublime acoustic ballad ‘Sleeping In The Rain‘ tackles the emotional subject matter of homelessness. With lead track ‘Killing Joke‘, the band’s vision of a sick twisted society (“Nobody’s laughing, they’re smiling through the pain”) will soon be realised, courtesy of a new music video. Final track on the album ‘Walk Away‘ is the heaviest song the band has put to record and showcases how well Voodoo Vegas mix the light and shade of rock music (“We wrote that in the final week of album pre-production, it’s one of those songs that grabs you by the scruff of the neck and it demanded to be on the album”).

As the album artwork and new band photo demonstrates, Voodoo Vegas have created a big top, circus ambience, something that’s been done to highlight what it’s like to be in a working band like VV in 2016.

“It’s hard and at times, it’s completely crazy”, says guitarist Meryl Hamilton“I mean, don’t get me wrong, to have the opportunity to do what we do is amazing and we’re extremely fortunate. But for anyone that knows what’s its like to be in band, working full on, whilst juggerling (see what we did there?) traditional work and personal lives, to people outside this bubble, they think we’re mad.” “Yep”, chimes in Case, “The name ‘Freak Show Candy Floss’ comes from the idea that people who don’t live in this music world can’t understand why we travel for hours and hours only to play music for a short amount of time. Some people think we are crazy, insane, maybe even FREAKS! The name Freak Show Candy Floss comes from that, we are crazy, we are insane, we are FREAKS who love writing and playing our music, and the candy floss is the music and gigs we play, it’s there, it tastes so sweet, but then it’s gone so quick just like candy floss.”

Talking of freaks, Voodoo Vegas talisman Jimmy Silver returns to the album cover, as the ring leader to the Freak Show Candy Floss Circus.

Recorded at Los Rosales Studios in Moralzarzal, Spain, ‘Freak Show Candy Floss‘ was engineered and produced by Guillermo “Will” Maya (The Answer).

“‘Freak Show Candy Floss’ is the first music written entirely with the new Voodoo Vegas line up.  Where some bands find it hard to write their sophomore album, Voodoo Vegas had a ton of energy going into the writing of this album and it didn’t feel like writing our second album, it felt like this was our first. Working with Will again (Maya produced last year’s ‘Hypnotise’ EP, which featured the debut of this current line up) was a no brainer. The man has helped us craft our best work yet and we’re all looking forward to what happens next”, says the band.

Voodoo Vegas

Following the debut album ‘The Rise Of Jimmy Silver‘ and UK/European tour with rock legends Y&T; Bournemouth, UK hard rock 5-piece Voodoo Vegas release their new EP ‘Hypnotise’ on 12th October 2015.

The new EP features four tracks of pumped up, high voltage rock n’ roll that will please anyone that’s a fan of hard rock music. Laying down a foundation of essential classic rock, Voodoo Vegas have stripped away their sound and put the pieces back together to create a collection of music that is modern, fresh and demands it be turned up, LOUD!
Frontman Lawrence Case picks up the story “Since the release of our first album, we’ve been focusing on touring, playing live and writing new material. When you tour with bands like Y&T and Status Quo, the pure class and calibre of these guys is unmistakable. Watching those bands play live out front and by side stage, it was obvious we were going to learn so much, not only to benefit our live show but also our perception on crafting the next chapter of Voodoo Vegas.”
So why an EP, why not the second album now? Case coolly replies “We’re living in an age where music comes and goes in a blink of an eye. Our focus was always going to be on raising our game via the live shows and I think by doing this EP now it allows us the flexibility of continuing to extend our reach out to live audiences in sync with this release. The second album is in the works but we felt we needed to bridge that gap firstly and this EP is a very good indicator of where Voodoo Vegas are going. Essentially this a prelude as to what happens next but doesn’t give the game away.”
Opening title track ‘Hypnotise‘ is unmistakably Voodoo Vegas but with a twist, the song blisters along with effortless groove, hard driven guitars and hooks aplenty. ‘Tied Up‘ maintains the pace but steps things up and showcases Voodoo Vegas as the true contenders they are. ‘Round & Round’ mixes things up with dueling guitars, bass breakdowns and a live ‘jam’ feel midway whilst ‘Killing Joke‘ cements the EP together and will surely become a live favourite in the band’s set list.
The Hypnotise EP was produced by Will Maya (The Answer, Breed 77) and recorded at Los Rosales Residential Studio in Madrid.
“Working with Will on this project really helped us bring the new songs to life. The guys is a consummate musician and producer and has a great eye for detail. We learnt a lot working with him. The fact that it was off the back of his work with The Answer (their latest album ‘Raise A Little Hell’ which broke into the UK’s National Top 20 and hit No.1 on the Rock Chart) really spurred all of us on. As a band, right now we’ve never been stronger. It’s an exciting time for Voodoo Vegas.”
With the EP’s cover art once again drawn by noted comic book artist Jim Boswell, Jimmy Silver makes his return but this time he’s not the city smashing giant as seen on Voodoo Vegas’s debut album. As the title track suggests, something’s afoot and just who is the mysterious lady luring Jimmy in with her charms?
All will be revealed over the coming months as Case explains “We wanted Jimmy Silver back but this time we wanted a twist, a backstory which you’ll find running across not just the EP but on the second album. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes with this and we can’t wait to get the ball rolling!”
