Stonedead 2020 Rescheduled to 2021, the following statement has been issued:

Hello Stonedeaders,

The news we’ve all probably been expecting, but dreading, is here. As much as it pains every single member of the crew we are going to be unable to deliver Stonedead 2020 under current Government guidelines. We are postponing the show until 28 Aug 2021 at the same venue with the same line up. The Stonedead Crew, from Festival Directors downwards, is made up completely of unpaid volunteers and we have tried to hold on until as late as possible for no other reason than to give the festival the best chance of going ahead.

Since the start of the pandemic we have been in weekly consultation with Newark District Council to see if we could find a way to go ahead safely whilst not compromising the Stonedead experience. Regrettably live performances are still banned; it is still illegal to have gatherings of over 6 people and everyone is still expected to socially distance and wear PPE . The Governments roadmap on when traditional live music performances can return has no timeline suggesting that these restrictions will not be lifted anytime soon. The recent re-locking down of nearby Leicester is another example of how unstable the situation still is. We will simply not risk the health and safety of the Stonedead family.

We will be back bigger and stronger in 2021. We have secured the same line-up, who are all chomping at the bit to grace our stage in front of you all. In addition we are bringing in some extra surprises, as a way of saying thank you for your amazing and continued support.

We would like to invite everyone who has a ticket to rollover for next year and join us in a field for our most spectacular show yet. If you are happy to rollover, simply keep your existing ticket safe as it remains valid for 2021. This is the best way to support the festival and secure it’s future but if you are unable to make the new date, we will be offering a refund on the face value of tickets purchased. If you are rolling over, you will also receive a 2021 ticket stub on the gate to add to your collection.

For information on refunds go to:
www.stonedeadfestival.co.uk/refunds

Refunds will be available until the 18th of July 2020. To process a refund we will require all tickets and passes to be returned.

In has been a hugely disappointing time for all of us and an extremely difficult decision to make but we are certain it is the right one. We are also certain that the Stonedead family will understand the reasoning behind it and continue to support us going forward. Here’s looking forward to seeing you all for our best show yet on 28 Aug 2021.

Any questions please email info@stonedeadfestival.co.uk

See you at the bar in 2021

Your Stonedead Production Crew

With the 2020 Stonedead Opening Poll competition crammed full of talent and the final 10 bands being of such a high caliber, made for a difficult decision for the Production team. We are delighted to announce that the band who will open the 2020 Stonedead Tommy Vance stage are Dead Mans Whiskey.

Since 2016, London based Dead Mans Whiskey have rapidly built a reputation as a hard working ‘one to watch’ U.K NWOCR band. With big vocals, huge guitar hooks, energetic performances and catchy as hell choruses, this 5 piece will offer a scintillating performance from their album ‘Under the Gun’ to kick off Stonedead Festival 2020. The production team feel that Dead Mans Whiskey have definitely gravitated from ‘ones to watch’ to ‘right here and now’. Dead Man’s Whiskey are: Nico Rogers (vocals) Billy Kons (lead guitar) Elliott D’Alvarez (rhythm guitar) James Titley (bass guitar) and Charlie Gray (drums).

With their ever-multiplying loyal fan base, dubbed ‘Whiskey Chasers’, voting in their masses to get DMW into the final we are in no doubt they will bring their infectious hard rock sound to the Stonedead masses and definitely get the party started in August. See you down the front! Stonedead Festival have announced the first acts for 2020.

Stonedead 2020 is an outdoor one day, one stage, monster of a festival where rock music reigns eternal. Stonedead is now firmly placed on the rock festival map and places the rock fan experience at its core. Come and see it for yourself!

Black Star Riders are currently one of the greatest rock bands around. Formed in 2012 with

Ricky Warwick (Vocals), Scott Gorham (Lead Guitar), Robbie Crane (Bass), Chad Szeliga (Drums) and Christian Martucci (Lead Guitar). They are often billed as the next step in the evolution of Thin Lizzy. However BSR offer far more that that: rock anthems with skilfully intertwined guitars, extremely powerful vocals with a unique sound designed to leave you wanting more. Certainly a fitting headline act for the Stonedead 2020 Tommy Vance stage.

World-renowned New York AOR melodic hard rockers Tyketto , fronted by Danny Vaughan offer a plethora of trademark melodies filled with riffs that fans know and love.

Southern blues influenced hard rock doesn’t get much better than the Kris Barras Band fronted by UK guitarist and vocalist Kris Barras; it is an explosion of gritty, hard rock blues, with killer riffs.

Birmingham’s very own Blaze Bayley returns to Newark having previously performed in 2018 with Wolfsbane; this time bringing a UK summer exclusive of his Iron Maiden years.

Tygers of Pan Tang hail originally from Whitley Bay and fully capture the raw spirit of classic

NWOBHM. Tygers of Pan Tang bring their full swagger and galloping riffs for our pleasure and enjoyment.

Myke Gray from the hard rock band Skin has joined with Kim Jennett. This collaboration brings a new vibe to Skin songs, as well as showcasing her own material; the songstress exudes a passion for rock’n’roll.

The legend that is Krusher Joule will once again be acting as compere for the day.
