The former Scorpions guitarist Uli Jon Roth, widely regarded as one of the greatest guitar players ever, is pleased to announce British newcomer Kaleb McKane as his special guest on Uli’s upcoming UK November Tour. Kaleb recently released his first EP “Universe in Reverse” produced by Miles James (Michael Kiwanuka, Emile Sande) and mastered by Gavin Lurssen (Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age).  The EP received rave reviews from the press and fans alike. In 2019 Kaleb will release his debut album.

Uli Jon Roth is one of the last greats who is still around to present his magical style of playing which he already forged in the late Sixties when he was still in his teens. Uli played his first ever show in December 1968 – at the age of 13 – and to celebrate his upcoming 50th Stage Anniversary, he will play 6 very special UK concerts.

The UK tour starts at the Corporation in Sheffield on Thursday 29th November, followed by University of London Union (Friday 30th November), Coventry’s Kasbah (Saturday 1 December), Manchester’s Academy 3 (Sunday 2 December), Glasgow’s Oran Mor (Monday 3 December) and Milton Keynes’ The Stables (Wednesday 5 December).  Tickets are on sale Tuesday 17th July from www.seetickets.com, stables.org and www.ulijonroth.com/tourdates.

The two hour-plus programme will consist of carefully selected highlights from Uli’s entire musical career, which – by now – is spanning no less than 5 decades! The amazing thing is that Uli Jon Roth keeps on getting better, as we have seen amply demonstrated by his astonishing and powerful recent appearances at the G3 Tour of Europe and the UK with Joe Satriani and John Petrucci.

In recent times, Uli has successfully revisited the early music of his celebrated Scorpions days which resulted in the superb Scorpions Revisited‘ double CD and ‘Tokyo Tapes Revisited‘ DVD/Blu-Ray releases. The 50th Anniversary set will naturally include the best of that timeless material, including
‘The Sails of Charon‘, ‘In Trance‘, ‘Fly to the Rainbow‘ and many other songs.

Csaba ZvekanSinger and band leader Csaba Zvekan comments:

“It’s going to be an exciting year 2016. With Nic Angileri, Mark Cross and Joe Stump we are working  already in Tower Of Babel and a couple of other bands. Exocism is picking up more and more live dates in Europe. So things might get much easier with an all European line up. We have chosen Tore Moren  who already played together with Nic Angileri on his solo projects as well as both played with Jorn Lande

Mark Cross

Mark Cross stated : “…Working with Exorcism is a new challenge and very inspiring. We started working with Zvekan in Tower Of Babel, which was big fun and the album turned out to be absolutely fantastic. Now I also set course onto Exorcism recordings and playing shows. The Sabbath moods in this band are very interesting and the lineup strong and superb. There´s nothing wrong with making new projects and playing in many bands, nowadays you gotta keep busy and play as much as you fuckin´can, you know what I mean?”…….See you on the road in May, looking forward to play some heavy drums for ya people!”

Tore Moren

This is going to be a new era for both me and Exorcism – and I once again have the pleasure of working with my long-time brother Nic (Angileri). We´re ready to kick ass!…”

Return To Forever Tour Edition

The Scorpions are on the move!
After last year’s massive sold-out world tour, the band is back to rock stages even harder. On their gigantic 50th Anniversary World Tour that kicked off in 2015, the Scorpions are heading to Eastern Europe in February before returning to the US with an impressive five night run at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and playing even more shows in cities around the globe.
The Scorpions have been going full throttle for more than fifty years now, with their best-selling albums dominating the charts for over 500 weeks in Germany alone, and countless chart successes abroad, as well as thousands of unforgettable concerts in cities like Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, Moscow, New York, Los Angeles, Paris or Berlin.
The Scorpions are and will be a band of superlatives. There is no other German band, which has gained as much international success and popularity over the course of so many decades. When the rock band from Hannover presented their 18th studio album ‘Return To Forever‘ for their 50th band anniversary one year ago, Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs displayed that they are unabatedly in formidable shape. Simply world class.
The Tour Edition of ‘Return To Forever’ comes opulently stacked with two brand-new live DVDs and a CD and is bound to make fans’ hearts leap for joy. Apart from the standard album’s twelve tracks, the CD contains all seven bonus tracks, which to date, have only been released on special editions of the album. The live DVDs are even more expansive, offering generous bonus material.
Included are two complete concerts from last year: The open air gig at the French Hellfest Festival, where they headlined in June, and their show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York featuring an impressive guest performance on ‘No One Like You‘ by twelve-year-old guitarist Brandon Niederauer.
The brand-new fifteen-minute video documentary ‘On The Road in America‘ by Dennis Dirksen gets to the heart of the matter that the Scorpions are able to consistently attract new generations of fans, who are delighted by their songs, sound and shows. Shot during the current world tour in California and Las Vegas, it gives a voice to fans spanning from teenagers to rock ’n’ roll veterans. The film impressively shows how popular the Scorpions are in the US, and it’s touching to see fans burst into tears while taking photos with the musicians. One highlight is the story of the Ukrainian woman, who at the time used ‘Wind Of Change‘ as an impetus to emigrate to the US, and has been a dedicated follower of the band ever since. After all, the Scorpions have not only left their mark on history but continue to influence their fans’ biographies.
In an extensive track-by-track interview, Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs offer a sneak peak into the band’s musical universe with anecdotes about the origin and meaning of the songs on “Return To Forever”. The Scorpions manage to blend new songs like ‘Going Out With A Bang‘, ‘We Built This House‘ and ‘Rock’n’Roll Band‘ seamlessly with their fulminant repertoire of rock classics from ‘Big City Nights‘ and ‘Blackout‘ to ‘Still Loving You‘ and ‘Rock You Like A Hurricane‘. This might also be the open secret allowing The Scorpions to continuously approach their live shows with so much freshness, passion and conviction. Fans can look forward to the upcoming gigs – especially because the Tour Edition of “Return To Forever” is a timely release as the perfect souvenir. And now: It’s showtime for the Scorpions!

The ‘Return To Forever’ Tour Edition will be available from March 11, 2016 as a 1 CD + 2DVD Digipack and as download.

Scorpions (band)

With the November 6th release of the 50th Anniversary Deluxe Editions, the Scorpions celebrate their impressive achievements and open their vaults to unleash hitherto unreleased songs, alternative versions of big hits, rough mixes and rare live concert footage.
In addition to dozens of unheard studio tracks and live recordings, all CD releases are equipped with extended booklets featuring rare photos and, single covers, backstage passes and additional liner notes by Edgar Klüsener, a former editor in chief of Metal Hammer who has followed the band‘s career closely over several decades. Five of the eight albums are accompanied with a DVD that contains live concert footage from the respective period, together with TV- performances and in- depth interviews with the band. In these interviews they talk about the background history and the creative process of each of these albums: Lovedrive, Blackout, Love At First Sting, World Wide Live and Savage Amusement.

The remastered LP formats are released on 180-gram vinyl in a sleeve replicating the first pressing. They also come with an audio CD, featuring the original track listing and the same bonus audio as the CD formats. A limited and numbered Deluxe Box Set will contain all remasted vinyl discs.

Scorpions said, “It’s hard to summarise 50 years in words, but listening back to all those songs – many of them them previously unreleased – recorded in one of our most creative periods, really took us back in time. This was a very heartfelt project for all of us. It brought back great memories whilst we rediscovered our musical DNA by listening to the archives, selecting dozens of unreleased songs and early versions of well-known Scorpions anthems. We really worked on the material to improve the sound quality, but always taking great care to preserve its original feel.”
