Laurence Jones Releases Third Single, ‘Get Back Up’, From Forthcoming Album ‘On My Own’

Following the momentum of his first two singles, the title track ‘On My Own‘ and ‘One Life‘, Laurence Jones returns with his third single, the aptly titled ‘Get Back Up‘, accompanied by a new lyric video.

The track offers another window into Jones’ most intimate project yet: his first-ever solo acoustic album, ‘On My Own‘, arriving January 23rd, 2026. The record marks a return to his earliest influences while delving into themes shaped by his ongoing experience living with Crohn’s Disease. Celebrated for his resilience and artistry, Blues Rock Review notes that “Laurence Jones is an inspiration to many” and Blues In Britian say “There are obviously a lot of singer-songwriters who record and perform acoustically, however there’s not that many as technically accomplished as Laurence Jones

“’Get Back Up‘ came to me in a time of needLaurence shares “I needed something to literally pick me back up. I kept moving one step forwards and two steps back and this is what this song is all about. It’s about determination, grit and the fight in you to get back up, if that’s picking yourself up off the floor when you are ill or mentally saying to yourself you got this. I’ve felt that mindset helps as part of my healing journey. I wanted the music to have that swagger and backbeat you can feel almost like a pulse. This was one of my favourite songs to record as I love the A cappella vocals at the end of the song. It was something I wanted to do for a long time, and this song gave me the confidence to do just that. I hope you all enjoy the music video. I named my record label after my best friend and Grandad ‘Ron Records’ and we used to always play dominoes together. At the end of the video there’s a photo of my grandad and myself when I was a kid and him first showing me how to play around the kitchen table

A classically trained guitarist who achieved Grade 8 Distinction at just 18, Jones blends his early musical foundations with the blues sound that helped establish his reputation.

Despite navigating significant health obstacles, he continues to build an impressive career that includes multiple British Blues Awards, more than 50,000 albums sold internationally, and a #1 achievement on the Official UK Jazz & Blues Chart. With On My Own, Jones shifts the spotlight toward raw storytelling and unfiltered emotion through a completely stripped-back approach.

Laurence will take ‘On My Own‘ on the road with his Solo Tour 2026, kicking off January 23rd in London.

The opening act is Amy Eftekhari, a singer-songwriter from Nottingham and life partner of Laurence Jones. Amy is known for her emotional and honest approach to songwriting. Her music combines vulnerability with strength and authenticity. On her debut EP, ‘All the Words‘, Amy Eftekhari naturally brings these qualities together.

Bio:

Laurence Jones is an award winning and critically acclaimed blues rock artist form Liverpool. He has supported the likes of Sir Ringo Starr, Van Morrison, the late Jeff Beck & Johnny Winter & was recently the support act for Status Quo on their farewell summer tour in 2024! “He’s like a young Eric Clapton” – Buddy Guy.

Laurence is known for his loyal following across The UK & Europe and recently teamed up with The Music Venue Trust on a 32-date tour to support grassroots and independent venues around the UK. This time Laurence has booked his whole UK tour working closely with promoters he has built up relationships with and venues he wants to give back to where he started.

This year will also see the debut release of his own record label Ron Records in loving memory of his Grandad Ronald Redcliffe. Laurence says “I’ve been lucky enough to be signed to major record labels from the age of 18, I’ve been on an incredible journey which I’m very grateful for and learnt a lot in the studio, I’ve signed 4 record & 5 publishing contracts over my 15 year career. I wanted to finally own the music I make and give back something special to my fans. The hardest things in life are the simplest things, and I really hope this album comes across authentic, real, and tells a story about my journey with my Crohn’s disease, life on the road and love! It’s one of my proudest moments to be able to release this whole project under my own record label, work close with the venues and have a small team around me that I trust. I’ve found it very hard with my Crohn’s to be on the road with long journeys and the constant toll the band takes physically on my body. I want the show to have an intimate feeling but at the same time I’m always ready to blues rock it, this time a bit more traditional”.  LJ

Going back to his roots, Jones will be embarking on a very special debut solo album tour. Laurence says ‘I’ve waited 15 years to bring it back home to the blues music and pay homage to the music I love. I feel these are some of the best songs I’ve written, you can’t hide behind just one guitar and a vocal. I’m excited to push my musical boundaries as I first started on the classical guitar when I was just 8 years old. I’ve always wanted to get back up on the stage on my own and combine my experience of the blues with my classical guitar training. I can say I have suffered my fair share of my blues having an invisible illness Crohn’s Disease. I have challenged my real-life blues into these songs; I wrote the album when I was having a Crohn’s flare over Christmas last year and it’s my most personal album yet.”

Laurence has won many awards and accolades over the years, selling over 50,000 albums & reaching a Top #40 in The Netherlands and a #1 blues record in the Official Jazz & Blues UK Charts. From achieving grade 8 distinction on the classical guitar from The Royal College of London at  age 18, to being voted ‘Best European Guitarist’ in the European Blues Awards & earned his place in ‘The Hall Of Fame’ in The British Blues Awards for receiving the award ‘Young Artist Of The Year’ for 3 consecutive years.
