Jay Buchanan, American singer-songwriter and frontman of rock band Rival Sons announces two solo shows this summer and a new solo album coming later this year.
Straight from a summer stadium tour with legendary rock band Guns N’ Roses the frontman will play in London then Paris with his new solo outfit Jay Buchanan’s Weapons Of Beauty.
Jay made his first European solo venture last year described by The Vinyl District as “a night of revelation and musical enchantment… seeing a gig like this in such an intimate room peeled back the layers of his onstage persona, revealing an artist deeply passionate about his music and storytelling.”
Jay is very pleased to be able to return this year after an epic run of Rival Sons shows with new solo music to share. He will return to play London Covent Garden’s STEREO this July, then Paris Studio de l’Ermitage.“These shows are a long-time dream made real for me” Buchanan states, “They serve such a great, personal purpose. Selective solo outings like this provide me the room to stretch out over the anvil and writhe with a storyteller’s indulgence.”
Live Dates:
London: STEREO, Covent Garden – Tuesday 15th July 2025
Paris: Studio de l’Ermitage, in assoc. with Rolling Stone France – Thursday 17th July 2025
Speaking about the upcoming release and shows Jay elaborates: “For months, I sequestered deep into the Mojave desert; alone, to write the collection for an album out later this year. In the past, the term HOLY SPIRITS fit perfectly to describe the music I was creating then but in my isolation with the beautiful, barren landscape a truer name for my efforts emerged very organically, almost empirical. From here on my live performances will hold the title Weapons Of Beauty. “
The powerful singer is one of the breakthrough vocalists of the last decade. Known for his towering vocals and preacher-like presence, Buchanan may front one of America’s leading rock bands, Rival Sons, but anyone who has met him knows that Jay is a formidable singer-songwriter who became a rockstar by chance.
Taking the time to give air to his more personal writing and penchant for romantic ballads, these shows will be “gloves off, bare knuckle, raw nerve, emotive performance.”
With a talent for lyrical narratives that straddle a line somewhere between american gothic and devastating romance, Buchanan holds the audience in rapture, with his observant, cinematically evocative story-telling and disarming sense of humour.
Bringing together a stellar group of musicians for these special nights, the two concerts in London & Paris will showcase songs from Jay’s previous solo work as well as his upcoming solo album ‘Weapons Of Beauty‘.
