Reach album

Swedish melodic hard rockers Reach have released a official tour video of the song ‘Coming Home‘ from the Reach debut album ‘Reach Out To Rock’. The video was filmed during the ‘Reach Out To Europe‘ tour this September and October 2015.

Reach was put together in 2012 by drummer Marcus Johansson and guitarist Ludvig Turner. Together they started looking for band members to complete the group, and found the remaining band members in bass player David Jones and vocalist Alex Waghorn. Among the first thing Reach did to reveal this new rock band was to arrange a hard rock cover of Avicii’s super hit ‘Wake Me Up‘ in August 2013. A huge success and about one year later the video has over 1.000.000 views AND still counting.

Reach’s music can be described as classic rock with strong melodies and hooks, complemented by their youth energy. You can hear influences from WhitesnakeScorpionsEurope and Gary Moore in the songs. Ludvig also put the melodic rock on the map in Swedish television in 2014 by making his own interpretations of major hits and being among the final four in the Swedish Idol contest.

The band released early 2014 a single Black Lady‘ to show their song writing abilities and proved not being just a cover band. In December 2014 having secured a deal with Sun Hill Production they released a first single ‘You Called My Name‘ from the album “Reach Out To Rock”.

Reach released their debut album, ‘Reach Out To Rock’, on March 4, 2015 via Sun Hill Production/Cargo Records.

Despite their young age, Reach are already experienced festival performers, having played festivals as HRH (UK),Frontiers (IT), Väsby Rock (SE), Skogsröjet (SE).

Reach are:
Alex Waghorn – Lead Vocals
Marcus Johansson – Drums
Ludvig Turner – Guitars
David Jones – Bass

Simon McBride

Belfast blues-rocker and uber guitarist Simon McBride returns to mainland UK for two shows in November after a year-long break. He plays London at the O2 Academy in Islington on Friday, November 27 followed by a show at the Raven Hall in Corby Northants on November 28.

Since last bringing his band to London McBride has recorded and toured with Deep Purple’s Don Airey, including a tribute to the late Gary Moore with whom Airey played for a number of years.

Often compared with the leading lights of guitar-focused rock (right up there with Al Di Meola, Carlos Santana, Joe Bonamassa and others . . . . yes, it’s that good!” Music News, Nashville), McBride has been the toast of the guitar and rock media since emerging on the scene supporting artists such as Joe Satriani and Jeff Beck. His most recent album Crossing The Line was a Classic Rock annual pick. His song Don’t Be A Fool has notched-up more than one million streams on Spotify.

At the London show McBride will be supported by emerging band Sweet Crisis, described by Classic Rock magazine as “an edgy slab of classic rock” and gaining five stars for their debut single. At the Corby show the support will be The Mentulls.

MarysCreek

MarysCreek was founded by Mats Nilsson & Stefan Halldin in 2004 with the intention to create an outfit blending the modern heavy rock of today with the Swedish tradition of strong melodies catchy choruses. Demoes where sent to various labels and after negotiations the band signed their record deal with the German major label, MTM. The members of the MarysCreek team continued their work with their debut album.
To supply the bands material with the necessary heavy sound, demon producer Fredrik “Fredman” Nordström (In Flames, Soilwork, The Haunted, Opeth and Dream Evil) was engaged for mixing the album. By September 2006 his work was finished and MarysCreek had their debut album in their hands. “Some Kind of Hate” was released mars 24th, 2007 and received great responses and the band toured to support the album. MarysCreek have shared stage with many artists. Among them: Takida, Evergrey, Crucified Barbara, Dead by April, Uriah Heep, The Poodles, Fatal Smile etc.
After changes in the line-up, MarysCreek is today constituted by Mats Nilsson (vocals), Peter Bergkvist (guitar), Roger Blomberg (bass), Jonas Hallberg (guitar) and Stefan Halldin (drums). Their sophomore album is recorded, this time with the help of the two producers Henrik Edenhed (Robyn, Straight Frank, Cesars Palace, Dead By April etc.) and Sebastian Forslund (Staireo, Night Flight Orchestra etc.). The two producers have backgrounds as metal fans but with broad musical experiences from diverse musical contexts, flavouring the sound of the new songs in the best possible way.
MarysCreek courageously blends modern heavy metal with the classic melodies of Scandinavian pop tradition to form a fresh and unique sound. The ambition is to take the best of the two worlds: a heavy rock foundation consisting of fat, distorted guitars and huge drums with a delicious topping of pop-flavoured song melodies arranged with multi layered vocals.

The album will be released by Escape Music on January 22nd 2016.

Blood Money

Danny Bryant is pleased to announce the release of his highly anticipated new studio album ‘Blood Money‘, released by Jazzhaus Records on Friday 29 January 2016.  His third album to be produced by Richard Hammerton, following in the footsteps of 2014’s Temperature Rising and 2013’s Hurricane, the new album features Danny collaborating with the iconic guitarists Walter Trout and Bernie Marsden on two tracks.

Pre-order the CD from Amazon UK.

Says Bryant, “I wanted to make this album ever since I began my musical journey 20 years ago as a 15 year old boy who fell in love with his parent’s record collection.  “Working with Bernie Marsden and Walter Trout on this album has been a career highlight for me.”   On Blood Money, Bryant set out to record an album that showed a return to his roots and an appreciation of his blues influences, by paying homage, as he puts it “to all the different influences and flavours of this wonderful music that I have loved for many years.”

Particular tracks like ‘On the Rocks’ is a homage to the late great Albert Collins, ‘Holding All The Cards’ is a tribute to Jimmy Reed, while ‘Unchained’ harks back to vintage Albert King Stax recordings.  The title track, ‘Blood Money’, was specifically written with Walter Trout in mind, who was Bryant’s guitar mentor when he had a chance meeting with him at a concert when he was only 13 years old.  “I wanted to share the song with Walter,” says Bryant. “I am really thrilled that he agreed to play guitar on the track. I think his contribution is truly stunning.”

Rebel Road

Rock multi-instrumentalist Edgar Winter is getting ready to release a new album and conquer the UK!

Edgar is the younger brother of the late Johnny Winter, and wrote and performed with Johnny on many occasions, including the legendary 1972 hit ‘Rock And Roll Hoochie Koo’. Edgar has most recently performed in the 11th incarnation of Ringo Starr’s All Star Band alongside long-time collaborator Rick Derringer.

Edgar has had a prolific career himself, both with White Trash and as the Edgar Winter Group, producing late 70’s No. 1 hit Frankenstein‘, which showcased his epic capabilities as a keyboardist, vocalist, percussionist and saxophonist.

Rebel Road’ is Winter’s 10th solo album and features 11 new tracks. The inspiration for the concept came from playing biker shows, such as the Easy Rider tour and Jay Leno’s Love Ride. The free spirited nature of biker life is a fitting metaphor for his musical approach, having been on the cutting edge of Rock, Blues, Jazz and Pop for decades.

Edgar was able to call upon an all-star cast throughout the recording process. Guns N’ Roses’ icon Slash features on the title track with lead and solo guitar work. One of Country music’s biggest stars Clint Black plays a mean harmonica for ‘The Power Of Positive Drinkin’’ and ‘On The Horns Of A Dilemma’. Edgar’s late brother Johnny Winter lays down guitars on ‘Rockin’ The Blues’, an experience which was special for Edgar, “I closed my eyes and it took me back to when we were kids”.

The song ‘Peace and Love’ is dedicated to Edgar’s former band mate Ringo Starr, who he played keyboards with in Ringo’s All-Starr Band. Touring with this project influenced and developed his musical outlook profoundly. ‘The Closer I Get’ is dedicated to his other biggest influence, his wife Monique Winter.

Edgar Winter has had a varied and interesting career. Having been a proficient multi-instrumentalist before even leaving his parents’ home in the 1960s, he released his debut album ‘Entrance’ in 1970. He had a number one hit with ‘Frankenstein’ in 1973. His music has been used on numerous films and TV shows including The Simpsons, Tropic Thunder and The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. An Eminem produced rework of his song ‘Dying to Live’ was used in Tupac: Resurrection, showing the broad reach of his influence.

“I have to thank Edgar Winter [for] the record that changed my life.” – Dave Grohl

“Former child prodigy and ‘Free Ride’ genius” – New York City Theatre

“Music Legend” – Consequence of Sound
