Bernie TormŽ

Help a Guitar Legend Create his First Solo Album for 15 Years!

Own the 1964 Fender Stratocaster That Ozzy Gave Bernie for £66,600!

Irish guitarist Bernie Tormé is literally a living legend, having played for Ozzy Osbourne and Ian Gillan amongst others.  The next step of his saga is a new Pledge Music campaign offering a multitude of awesomeness, aimed at keeping connected with fans whist enabling him to record his first solo album for 15 years – plus raising money for charity along the way.

It has been said of Irish guitarist Bernie Tormé that he plays his Stratocaster through a Marshall as though he knew them in a previous life.  However, it’s this life that Bernie loves, and he is more excited than ever to announce he is writing this new album – and he asks if you want to be a part of getting it recorded and released without record labels: Direct from him, to you.

And what a life.  Bernie’s career includes axing for Ozzy Osbourne, after stepping in & saving the day in the aftermath of another legends tragic death –  the one and only Randy Rhoad’s.  He was an integral part of ex-Deep Purple frontman Ian Gillan’s massive world-touring band Gillan – with whom he wrote and played on four top ten albums and many hits, including the biggest selling singles, ‘New Orleans’ and ‘Trouble’.  He formed Desperado with Twisted Sister front man Dee Snider, which also featured ex-Iron Maiden drummer, the great late Clive Burr.  He played alongside celebrated keyboard player Vincent Crane (ex-The Crazy World of Arthur Brown) as a member of psychedelic doom rockers Atomic Rooster.  He has constantly performed with his own bands as well, including Electric Gypsies and Torme, bands that have rocked and released hit records all over the world.

That said, now is the time for something new.  It’s time to cut out the middle-men, say goodbye to red-tape and labels – and just deliver, one song after another, on a new record planned for release after completion of the pledge campaign in 3 months time.  With 10% of all money raised going to Teenage Cancer Trust, there are some truly unique things on offer, including guitar lessons with the man himself; his original stage jacket seen in the album cover to Gillan’s ‘Mr Universe’; personal acoustic gigs in your home; the chance to perform onstage during an encore at a show – and, best of all, the original lake placid blue 1964 Fender Stratocaster given to Bernie by the one and only Ozzy Osbourne is up for grabs at the more-metal-than-metal price of £66,600.  Bernie would like to invite you along for the ride:

“I hope you become part of this album and pledge, and if so I thank you for your generosity and for your continued support over so many years – and thank you from my heart for enabling me to do the thing I love most, to make music for you”.

The DGB, previously known as The Danny Giles Band have been a firm favorite for quite a few years. So it is great news that they will be releasing their debut album in a couple of months.

Pre-release copies of their debut album ‘More Is More’, are now available  from their website

The DGB is a marriage of classic and modern musical values; tipping its hat to the past, living in the present and looking towards the future – combining great songs, a great sound and stunning musicianship, all wrapped up in a modern formula.

The trio of Danny Giles (Guitar & Vox), Pat Garvey (Drums) & Jon Chase (Bass) bring you their brand of full-blooded rock with a twist of blues, gospel and soul, spiriting a no nonsense attitude & paying very little, if any attention at all to any of the boundaries placed before them.

Vancouver’s powerhouse blues rock band No Sinner, hot off their critically acclaimed concerts at this year’s SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, return to the UK and Europe for an extensive tour in May 2014, releasing their new single “Love Is A Madness” on 26th May.

The UK and European tour follows a sold out showcase show at The Blackheart, Camden, back in November 2013 which received an incredible reaction from the British music press.

The four-piece featuring the sultry lead singer Colleen Rennison (whose surname is No Sinner spelt backwards), not only captured the imagination of the British public, the legendary BBC radio DJ Bob Harris has also fallen for their addictive sound and will record an exclusive session with them for his BBC Radio 2 Show on their return to London in May.

Selected by Amazon UK for their 2014 “New and Emerging Artists” campaign, No Sinner follows in the footsteps of 2013’s featured bands (Haim, Daniel Avery and Chvrches).

Their scintillating, raw and powerful debut mini album “Boo Hoo Hoo” has received accolades and rave reviews in Classic Rock, The Blues Magazine, Total Guitar, Guitarist, Blues Matters, Blues & Soul, R2 Magazine, Fireworks, Powerplay, Guitar Techniques and Blues in Britain.

No Sinner, described as a cross between The Black Keys, Alabama Shakes and Janis Joplin, will kick off their European tour at Dublin’s Workman’s Club, and will then head to the UK to perform alongside Real Estate and Wolf Alice at all three Dot To Dot Festivals in Nottingham, Manchester and Bristol.

The band, who built up a considerable following when they supported Beth Hart in Europe during 2013, will then make their way over to Holland and Germany for dates in Amsterdam, Hamburg, Hannover, Dortmund, Frankfurt, Dresden and Berlin.

Earlier this year, Classic Rock and The Blues Magazine included No Sinner in their “Ones To Watch in 2014” lists.Says Classic Rock -“No Sinner has the charisma of the Joplin-lunged front-woman Colleen Rennison; an early contender for ball-breaking warrior princess of 2014.”

Championed by Blues & Soul as “Album of the Month” the magazine went on to say, “Think of Joss Stone, Etta James and Beth Hart’s growling blues rock raunch with the retro rock power of Vintage Trouble, and the rasping rockabilly of Imelda May. Add to the mix, Alabama Shakes, and stir.”

Joining BOC after a 7 year absence from the UK are Swiss multi-platinum selling rockers, Krokus. With 14 million album sales and over 17 studio albums, it’s about time they get back onto the UK shores and join the rest of the bands at HRH 8.

Finally after much persuasion, NWOBHM legends Vardis have now agreed a reunion and a much anticipated return to the HRH rock royalty circle this November.

“We’re thrilled to be back in action after 5 years which seems like a life time! We wouldn’t be THIS thrilled if the new album hadn’t turned out be exactly how we wanted it to be. It’s just as bold, big, polished, hooky and sticky as we pictured it. A lot of hard work was spent making it happen and now it’s time for the best part of making music; taking it out and playing it live. We can’t wait to meet our old friends again and hopefully make some new ones along the way. Hope you enjoy Diamond In The Firepit. Thanks for still being there and sorry for the delay, let’s have some serious fun!”

BROTHER FIRETRIBE – the melodic rock maestros from Finland featuring Nightwish guitarist Emppu Vuorinen – have announced the release of third studio album, ‘Diamond In The Firepit’; this 12-track offering will be issued on May 5thvia Spinefarm Records.

‘Diamond In The Firepit’ is the band’s first full-length release since ‘Heart Full Of Fire’ (2008), a gold record in their native Finland; the BFT catalogue is completed by debut album, ‘Breakout’ (2006), plus the ‘Live At Apollo’ DVD (2010).

On the live front, BFT will be bringing their ‘freeway anthems’ to British shores for the first time this year, having confirmed an appearance at ‘Firefest’ (Rock City, Nottingham) on October 26th. UK headline dates are also in discussion.

With a video for new single ‘For Better Or For Worse’ now in the bag, and ‘Diamond…’ being talked about as the best BFT album to date, 2014 will be the year when these brothers in (melodic) metal make their mark across the board.

SunStrike: A glare in the road that can temporarily blind drivers. But SunStrike will blind you with catchy melodies and big choruses!

The band was formed by guitarist Joachim Nordlund and the drummer Johan Lindstedt together with singer Christian Hedgren (Twilight Force, The Theander Expression) by the fall of 2012. You also find Joachim and Johan in the Swedish metal act Astral Doors. Right from the start the three guys had a very clear image in how the music should sound like: pure melodic hard rock was on the agenda!

When only a handful of songs were written they felt that the songs needed the touch of a real keyboard player. Up until then Joachim had done the keyboard parts on one or two songs. Christian knew a guy that would be perfect for the job, and after a cup of coffee and a handshake Fredrik Plahn (Prey) joined the force. They all felt that this is far too good to be just a project and after a couple of weeks a second guitar player, Mats Gesar (Thalamus) and bass player Björn Lundqvist (Twilight Force) joined the band that now got the name SunStrike.

Two demo songs were posted on the band’s facebook page in the summer of 2013, and immediately the word was out about this new  melodic rock outfit from Sweden. Radio stations started to play those songs and a couple of record companies showed their interest in the band.

The song-writing/recording continued through 2013 in Joachim’s Big Turn Studio until they had 12 songs that were strong enough for the album ”Rock your World”. For the mixing and mastering process SunStrike chose Erik Mårtensson (Eclipse, W.E.T). Cover art and the booklet design was done by no one else but Carl-André Beckston (Monowasp).
